Haven't read the so-called original. This movie alone really disappointed me.
The title is "Heidi and Grandpa", I must guess that the film tells the story of a little girl and her grandpa. At the beginning, the girl's background and grandpa's eccentric character are explained as suspense. Then I take it for granted that the future will reveal the true situation of my grandfather - the truth and falsehood of the villagers' discussions. Then come a set of sensational grandfather and grandson emotions, maybe it can earn my tears.
Unexpectedly, two-thirds of the entire film is about Heidi and Clara's friendship. The so-called grandpa lives in Heidi's mouth most of the time. Why is the movie still called "Heidi and Grandpa"? In addition, since the story is to be told like this, grandfather is not the main character. Arranging a country old man casually, even a rural old man who grew up under Heidi's care, is more tenable than this grandfather. I only knew each other a few days after I left, and I want to come back to find my grandpa every day. If I were a child, I would not be like this.
And Clara, this character can't stand. A child with an acquired disability and lack of companionship should be introverted and sensitive. She can fully empathize with Heidi, and let her go back, and then cry alone in the room. Instead of ignoring Heidi's homesickness and making trouble with everyone. If you want to say that the princess of the rich family is ill, it is inevitable that she should not be so sensible in other aspects. I feel a little weird anyway.
What is the meaning of Pete's existence? If you don't understand, you can absolutely not. Pete, on the other hand, is the most stand-up person, but I hate it from start to finish.
All in all, very disappointed, very different from what I imagined, wasting the beauty of Switzerland.
