How can a movie be made like a poem? Abigail's narration is as gentle as running water, describing her pain, anxiety, and even despair. Until the appearance of Tully, the sympathetic female care filled the emptiness of each other's hearts. In the poetic narration, we see Abigail's existence, desire and growth. What is it that makes a woman who has fallen into "despair" regain the happiness and meaning of existence? Abigail at the beginning was probably the representative of women in that era (the mid-19th century). An unchanging life is a lifetime. The film is set in upstate New York in the 1850s, and the story tells the story of a peasant woman Abigail and her neighbor's wife Tully. Abigail drifted away from her husband because of the loss of her daughter, and the daily rural labor was enough to consume all her expectations of life. And because Tully can't have children (who knows if it's the man's problem...), she and her husband are barely maintaining a husband and wife relationship. Compared with Abigail's husband, Tully's husband is more like a representative of patriarchy. He repeatedly recites the dogma in the Bible about "wives must obey their husbands", but he never cares about the Bible and emphasizes that husbands must be as respectful as possible. Respect your wife as much as you do. . As the two women's restrained and indulgent emotional exchange progresses, we watch Abigail go from hopeless in life, not even praying on the Sabbath or looking forward to a new world, to hope and passion for life later , and even imagination; from the passive waiting for Tully's visit at the beginning to the active search for Tully's whereabouts later, there are completely two Abigails before and after, but unfortunately it is too late. But fortunately, Abigail's "heart" has been opened, and with the company of "Tully", she will eventually move towards the beautiful new world that they are looking forward to. . "Why can't we be together"? In those days, it was impossible! Perhaps, Tully's death has been the best ending. The memories of love that ended abruptly are sweet and bitter, and therefore, easier to remember. . Tully brought Abu Ghail not only love, but more, hope. . "Open Heart World", known as the female version of "Brokeback Mountain". The pictures, music and narration are all beautiful~
