"Quiet Passion": A biographical film about the American poetess. To be honest, I watched it three times. The dialogues are all poems. At first, I thought it was too literary and too creative, and the only thing worthwhile was photography. The second time I thought Emily was too unlovable at times; just read poetry, no need to read the biography of the poet. The third time, she was afflicted by illness and her parents left; she still wrote poetry. Father believed; Mother loved. The line "Why the world has become so ugly?" makes people sigh. At this point each verse takes on a new depth. Still a movie worth watching. The propaganda poster is very similar to "Jane Eyre", and "Jane Eyre" is really the favorite of female poets. An independent, talented poet whose poetry is worth reading from time to time. Poetry requires imagination, film is visual art, and her garden is so beautiful, as her poems describe it.
