I followed the guidance of the predecessors and watched the 1994 movie first, and then the 1 to 3 seasons. So far, I haven't finished watching the third season, but I don't plan to watch it for the time being.
To me, Stargate is a strange hybrid. I don’t watch many sci-fi American dramas, and I don’t have much say. But just the "Battlestar" and this one I watched a lot, I have the same reaction. At the beginning, I was very greedy to watch: I watched one or two seasons at once, and then I felt a little bit general; then I deleted them all.
I know a little bit about physics and space, so watching such sci-fi dramas is more fun. But what I haven't quite understood is:
1) There is no focus. This kind of problem is particularly obvious in Stargate. There is no problem with each episode having a specific theme, but this episode does not have a common value tendency and judgment standard. My reason is that I didn’t see this series discussing things together through different scenes and encounters: for example, Michael changed from a person to a ghost and then back again, which can show the screenwriter’s ability to control ethics and other topics. Locality, in my opinion, is just a hasty end;
2) The overall technological level cannot be leveled. In fact, sci-fi movies and sci-fi dramas have insurmountable pain in the context of technology and technological level in setting the age of technology. Long-time voyages coexist with weapons that can't be penetrated even in a wooden box. The depth space detection technology and communication are still using old-fashioned walkie-talkies... You can't imagine that in a world where technology is advanced These things exist. Just as I often think that there is a certain science fiction film in Japan (I have to say that I have a high overall evaluation of this animation, but this does not mean that I appreciate all the details of it), the communication between highly developed robots and other equipment is actually still Use the keyboard to input. Although the steel fingers of the robot on the screen input countless characters like flying on the keyboard, you still feel the lack of imagination. On the contrary, many years ago, in "Superman", data storage, input and output, etc., have been using crystals. This is something I want to use more advanced technology when I saw it.
3) English is used throughout the universe. This is understandable, in order to avoid the difficulties caused by the voice aspect of the TV series. But if a little child sees it, will he really think that the intelligent creatures in this universe all speak English, my God! It seems that I need to learn English well...
4) Most creatures in this universe look like human beings, at least those with a little bit of intelligence are. On every planet, the environment is similar to that of the earth... The problem is the same as above;
I admit that I am a bit picky. It’s not that the suspect is the buyer...hehe
, it’s undeniable that Stargate has brought me a lot of joy, but I just hope it can be perfect, although there is no such thing as perfect in the world.
