Our youth that has nowhere to put

Almost all my friends who watch Skins for the first time will tell me that this drama has given them a very different understanding of Britain. It was the same when I first saw Skins. There is no stubborn nostalgia like Doctor Who, no light-hearted funny like Coupling, no black humor like Extras, and no senseless like Black Books. The screens are full of foul language, cigarettes, marijuana, alcohol, and exposed bodies of boys and girls, everything seems presumptuous and public. So that at the end of the first episode, there is only a weird feeling, it seems to have rushed into a life that does not belong to oneself, there is a kind of ecstasy and fear of not understanding. The protagonist of this play is not very eye-catching at first, whether it is Tony who looks a little weird, Sid who is weak and extremely unhygienic, Cassie who is a little nervous, or Michelle who is slightly beautiful but can't detect his personality. They are carrying out their earth-shattering activities in an inconspicuous corner of the world, frantically and wanton.
However, the charm of Skins's play is that it seems that all this life is not related to you, but it can always touch a corner of your heart. You are the romantic Tony who finally repented, but suffered a tragic death. You are still weak and incompetent, Sid who continues to live your life in an indifferent manner; you are obviously facing the person who loves yourself, but helplessly Michelle, who loves those who do not love herself, is still under pressure from the family and unknown to Jal trying to shine. Or, you are the Cassie who seems carefree and ignorant of everything, but is finally inspired by the sudden love to worry about Cassie. Of course, you may also fall in love with the psychology teacher, but found out that she already has a fiance. Chris is an Anwar who bears the name of a Muslim but goes to great lengths to gain the right to live freely. He is full of artistic talent and is worshipped by girls, but Maxxie who must stubbornly hold his gay orientation. It is more likely that you are none of them, it is possible that you are just a good, silent child who goes to school obediently and reads well. But when you see Chris discovering that his mother has abandoned herself after the crazy party, when you see Sid next to Michelle and see his beloved woman and best friend Qingqing, when you see that you have always been arrogant and confident When Tony is full of humiliation to save his sister, you will find that behind the colorful, feasting glitz, there is still hidden youth-related, almost everyone is a constant sadness. Behind them so freely, so slutty, so unrestrained, so unruly, they were always burdened by the shackles that had locked them. What makes them at a loss is that these shackles were not imposed on them by others, but they were willingly handcuffed to their ankles.
Naturally, you can yell on the street, dance with the crowd in the bar, and pour yourself unconscious with bottles of beer next to the TV. Naturally, you can be fascinated by the crazy sex and the exhilarating marijuana. You can choose music with strong drums, sharp lyrics, and frivolous melody. But in the end, when all this is gone, you finally discover the fact that what is in front of you is still like that in black and white. All presumptuous rebellion is just a by-product of sorrow. Squandering desperately is not because of too much time, but because the days are too heavy. You must sweat a little, cry a little, and see a little blood in order to slightly resolve your depression.
In a way, Skins is even a clean TV series. Behind all the elements of "restricted level", everything it tells is just the days related to youth, but it is not as pure and flawless as the first love in the dream, but that is because it is reality, it is these lovely but lovely. All the wealth carried by the surly children is the source of all their pride and low self-esteem, hard work and withdrawal, smiles and tears, hope and despair. They work hard to love, hate, pursue what they want to pursue, and redeem what they are about to lose. They are like babies who have just landed, eager to try but at a loss, and like adults who have experienced vicissitudes of life, they are eager for self-control but do not know how to face fullness. A life of temptation.
And I also know what a tacky phrase "youth with nowhere to put", and I also know that the descriptions piled up with such rhetoric cannot convey the small shocks in my heart when watching this drama. But it is such simple stacking and small vibrations that give these helpless children a unique place in their hearts. A position that makes people helpless and sometimes heartache, a position that makes people proud but sometimes frustrated. Just like the group of people in Skins, just like the youth we still don't know where to put.
