There's a lot of foreshadowing in the movie.
After getting off the plane and meeting the pilot's aunt, Yuichi said that he had met a female pilot somewhere before.
Coming back from the first flight, he said it felt like he had driven before.
When I came out of the bar, I said that I had eaten the same meat pie.
When I arrived at the brothel, I felt that I had been there before, and the women inside would laugh and greet his fierce female boss as soon as they saw Yuichi.
The most obvious thing is when Yuichi made the truth clear. He saw the same color of hair and the same movement of his comrades one after another, reading the "Yomiuri Shimbun" of the day.
Yuichi finally said that even if it is the same road, every time you walk, you will see a different scenery. In line with this theme, a technique was used a lot during the production of this film, the same original painting, or several similar original paintings, were reused in different plots, so that the audience also experienced the feeling of deja vu. (By the way, save a few original paintings..)
Better get off the plane and light a cigarette. With and without a helmet. The two original paintings are similar, and what is interesting is that the same original painting is used next to these two shots, which is a close-up of a dog and a broken matchstick at his feet.
The picture above shows Yuichi riding his bike back during the day when the base was attacked. The picture below shows Yuichi riding the same road at dusk. Light and shadow are different.
The picture above is the first time Yuichi and Tokino went to a bar to watch the news. The picture below is of Mitsuya joining the bar later. The sitting position has changed slightly.
There are two shots of Kusanagi's daughter and dog chasing and running as the plane landed. The position of the characters and the dog, the lighting of the background changes.
The picture above is the first time Yuichi shot down the enemy plane and returned home successfully, and Tokino collided with him to celebrate. The picture below shows them coming back victorious after fighting side by side again. The position of the characters has not changed at all, but the background of the sky has been changed and the lighting has been adjusted.
This set of pictures is one of my favorite variations.
The picture above is Yuichi's first visit to Fuuko. Fuuko asked Yuichi, will you come next time? Yuichi said it. Fuuko said very solemnly, he must come!
This picture actually appeared for the second time later. With the background music, there was no dialogue, and the same original picture with the exact same expression was used to tell the audience that Fuuko solemnly promised Yuyi every time, let him remember that he must live. , live until the next meeting.
The difference is that after the original picture above appeared for the second time, the original picture below appeared, and Fuuko's expression changed from solemn to charming. The original picture below only appeared this time in the movie (at least the version I saw), which shows that Fuuko cares more about Yuichi than tenderness, and also shows tenderness and preciousness.
I also found a few identical original paintings that appeared at least twice in the movie, so I won't take screenshots here:
Yuichi pushed open the window from the dormitory.
Yuichi and Gou were waiting at the gate of Hangar No. 3 on a rainy day.
Ashtray, cigarette butt, Sirius cigarette case, lighter on Kusanagi's table.
Kusanagi leaned on the railing on the rooftop to watch his comrades take off.
Aunt pilot picked up the sleeping dog and turned off the lights in the hangar.
sky and clouds.
(1) Helpless
(2) Deja vu
(3) expressionless
