When it comes to clones, the ending is always sad

I saw this movie in the cinema two years ago.

At first, I didn't understand what I was talking about. I just sighed that the CG of the air combat was so well done. It is indeed the work of the supervisor of Oshii.

I originally thought that I would sit in the dark in such a daze until the end of the movie, and then post a sentence, "...Well, the technology is really amazing, the plot, it's secondary!" Although I had planned to find such an excuse to cover up my Japanese level, But he is still in the mood of watching a suspense movie, and he is guessing the ins and outs of the plot.

When the dead man (forgot his name) - with striking silver hair, will never mix with others - he sits at the dining table and reads the newspaper as usual, and after reading, he habitually folds it carefully in half ( Sure enough, there are no extra actions and props in the movie), the same face, the same habitual action, and then say "I'm new here, first meeting, hello" in the same voice.

A terrifying and strange feeling emerged spontaneously, "Didn't he just die?" I asked Kaka next to me, hoping she could help me understand the meaning of Japanese.

"Well...it doesn't seem to be alone, but...isn't he dead?"

"Could it be that he has a brother?"

"...Er?...! It's possible"

"Wait a minute, could it be a clone!"

! ! !

As soon as the words came out, he was also startled. But I immediately felt that I guessed right, judging from the details of the film. At the same time, the sense of heterogeneity spreads more, and I am really a little afraid of such a story theme.

But there is nothing more reflecting the trend of the times than this theme. The changes of the times can be seen in Oshii Mamoru's own works. The previous "Ghost in the Shell" discussed the relationship between humans and machines. Up to that stage, humans' excessive pursuit of the physicality of power, combining human brains with machine bodies and information technology, created new individuals. It embodies the desire to make one's own body extremely powerful; at the same time, it is a whimsical desire to make the emotions endowed by machines and concerns that machines will one day replace human beings.

In today's unprecedented development of genetic technology, human cloning is undoubtedly the most popular protagonist. No matter how close artificial intelligence is to human beings, it can only be a machine. Perhaps it is the fear of human beings for the physical power of machines, so they want to create a tool that is as intelligent and physically weak (harmless) as human beings. Of course, we have cloned human beings so far. Only in literature. But these descriptions in literature may not be unfounded whims. Often, they are manufactured as weapons or replacement parts or wholes. Just as mass items are produced in the industrial context, the human body in the genetic context can also be replicated in mass. The human species should be the most mysterious and complex existence of all species, especially the human brain. It took tens of millions of years of evolution to reach the status of dominating all things. Ironically, humans have been able to put tens of millions of years of The difficult crystallization is so easy to mass-produce, but it is used as a low-level tool, as if the human mind and human emotions are only accessories accompanied by the limbs and organs.

Unlike many works that describe artificial intelligence, clones rarely have revenge against humans in the works. As mentioned earlier, the relatively weak physicality of clones makes them not threatening, and they are usually depicted For the victims who silently endure unfair fate, there is no memory of the past, let alone the future, only the present is meaningful to them. However, the most tragic thing is that the clones will eventually know that the meaning of their existence is only as a tool to entertain human beings, but they have no power or ability to resist as a spiritual individual. Even if you resist the result like a human being, it is not as easy as an object or an animal that does not resist. The result is always too sad. That's why I don't like clones.

Another issue worth exploring in this movie is that the people on the protagonist's side are set to be small children, while their opponents are adults called TEACHER. What does this portend?

It is difficult to fully understand the worldview just by watching the animation, but unfortunately the Chinese version of the novel is not finished. It is recommended to play the Wii version of the game, operate the godfather to beat the heroine, and various throughput conveniences to facilitate understanding of reincarnation.
