Products and works

To say that American films are more like products, then European films are more like works. Products are easily associated with industry or commerce, while works are, of course, personalities or thoughts. The German film "The Door of Rebirth" (director: Anno Saul) is like thinking about something. Every detail seems to be a deliberate display of the result of thinking.

The man dishonestly stayed with the child at home, and went out to fool around with the neighbors. The child chased a blue butterfly and fell into his own swimming pool and drowned. Daughter-in-law hates it and ignores it. Five years later, wandering around in remorse, he was also led by a blue butterfly, through a hole, and returned to the moment five years ago: when he saw that he walked into the neighbor's house, he hurried to the swimming pool, Rescue the child. After a while, the one who went out to fool around came back, the two met, and slaughtered him and buried him in the yard. The originally cold husband and wife slowly reconciled, but the child knows that he is not the original father. A friend found the body buried in the yard, and was hacked to death with the help of a neighbor who also traveled back and should have been sentenced. Later, more and more people came back, and even his daughter-in-law came back. . . In a space-time, two identical people cannot exist at the same time, and they are inevitably killed. Ya sent his daughter-in-law (current? or past?) and child to the future through that hole. By the way, he killed the neighbor who was blocking him, and also collapsed the hole (gate of rebirth). Ya sat in the backyard of the house with his daughter-in-law (current? or future?) who came back from time travel, OVER!

The general plot is like this. It looks quite messy, but after thinking about it a little bit, it seems to be a bit sane. For example:

Why was the butterfly that the child chased after leading the rebirth? ——How real children are, how innocent and thieves they are. They want things that adults often overlook or should value more.

Why would you kill your old self? ——Since being reborn, of course, the original self must be destroyed. There are many concepts involved in "rebirth": Nirvana, reincarnation, rebirth after death, not being able to step into the same river twice, and so on.

Why do "bad things" can also be reborn? ——Since opportunities are provided, they must be treated equally. Just like the yin and yang of life and death day and night, if you want to save your daughter and can come back, then I can also come back if I want to eliminate the evidence and avoid being caught.

Why are friends being killed? ——“As soon as one will succeed, ten thousand bones will die.” If you want to be reborn, you have to disown your six relatives. If you get in the way, you have to ask away, and the same goes for friends.

Why are there so many people coming back in chaos? ——If the past and the future are out of balance, what is threatened, of course, is the present. There is a past, a future, and a present. Ah came back from there, killed herself here, barely balanced. But his wife also came back, and there was no one there, so Ya sent his wife and daughter over there, and he stayed here with the wife who came back over there, and the balance was restored. Classmate J has a saying: "You can enjoy the present while cherishing the past and looking forward to the future." It doesn't work either.

In the nearly two-hour movie, especially after passing through the German minds (how meticulous they are, Kandenitzer Kafka, a bunch of big thinkers are in their corners), there are still many discernible and elusive things. For example: why five years later? Why are butterflies blue? Like it, see for yourself.

Film, of course, is an industry. For the audience, it is a piece of music, more like a product or a work, it doesn't matter. As far as the film industry is concerned, the product is of course the meat, and the work is the soup left over after the meat is taken away. Europeans could not eat meat and had to drink the rest of the soup. To ridicule Americans for their lack of culture is to compare their own strengths to others' weaknesses, just like a basketball player saying that he is taller than Einstein, which is a sin. What kind of movie Hollywood makes has nothing to do with American culture.

In a person's life, sometime, someplace, some aspect must or preferably be a product. But the whole life is like this, it is called sadness, it is called "no culture". Products and works, soup and meat, belong to Europe and the United States. When we get to us, maybe we can lick the edge of the bowl, maybe the scum is left. Therefore, domestically produced, if you can, don't watch it.
