The movie is divided into three chapters. My favorite is the 1966 Taipei chapter, written by Zhu Tianwen. The young Zhang Zhen failed to go to university, and after two years in the billiards room, it was finally time for military service. Before the trip, he put his nostalgic and nostalgic feelings on a billiard room lady. In the days that followed, he interacted with Shu Qi Hongyan, who appeared by chance, and complained to each other. Zhang Zhen had a vacation, and when he returned to the billiards room, Shu Qi had already gone. Zhang Zhen chased him all the way to the billiard room where she worked. When Shu Qi looked back to see Zhang Zhen, she was neither sad nor surprised, she just smiled happily, as if she knew that fate had come, and she was sure that this person would appear. There were few conversations, no physical sway, and two people walked. Zhang Zhen had to rush back to the barracks early the next day, but the joy of the small gathering, the best time, made him forget the time, and he missed the last train. In the drizzle, men and women who were sentimental about parting and lost about their futures hooked their hands together and exchanged their beaks and tongues logically. The Beatles' "Tears in the Rain" sounded, and the audience, like me, was intoxicated.
The second chapter is like a silent film, paying tribute to the century of film. Looks good on the set and the way it was made. An old-fashioned story of a talented and beautiful woman who loves and hates you, often seen in vernacular novels. The details make the film impressive, poetic without losing the world. There is no cadence, only a straightforward narrative. This story takes place in 1911.
For some reason, Hou Hsiao-hsien disrupted the time. After 1966 comes 1911, and the last chapter goes back to 2005. Rock singer Shu Qi has a girlfriend, and unconsciously falls in love with LOMO photographer Zhang Zhen who has a girlfriend. They betrayed their respective love and kept each other warm. When they hurt their lover, they hear the tearing sound from their hearts. The story is clearly far from Hou Hsiao-hsien. He entered the new world with curiosity, and made the pictures bright but not sincere and empty.
That night, I watched the October 27 issue of "Kangxi Comes: Kang Yong's Home". Cai Kangyong interviews Zhang Zhen and Shu Qi. Zhang Zhen carefully faced the question, calmly and a little contrived. Shu Qi is even more charming off-screen. She is obsessed with men like Zhang Zhen, but she has no confidence in love. When it comes to life in the entertainment industry, she cried and asked the director to call "Ka". I see bitterness.
Yesterday I had a barbecue and chat with my friends in a LOFT. The people I love, the people I care about, and the people who love me and care about me are all there. I was so excited as I walked across the yard to go to the bathroom, seeing the smiling faces of my friends through the window, I thought I had the best time. This time was obtained by chance and will always be remembered.
