Two days ago, I watched this domestic animation that has been debated on the Internet. I also read a lot of comments before watching the movie. The praise is very consistent, and the derogation is very consistent. Although the derogation is more fierce, I really like the style of "Big Fish and Begonia" from the bottom of my heart. I want to watch it anyway, although I may be angry because of the plot after watching it. Say it again.
Since I have read a lot of comments, I have a vague impression of the plot, and I have psychological precautions for the controversial part, so I began to pay attention to the plot of the characters during the whole movie watching, and it is not easy to be led by the plot. After watching it, I have fully understood the debate about this animated film on the Internet - the black cauldron of the plot should be the script.
1. The dialectic of the mermaid relationship at the beginning of the movie, the movie does not have any explanation, it is arrogant at the beginning, and it also quotes Zhuangzi's words. Presenting the worldview of a completely unfamiliar story directly in front of the audience is a great discount for the audience's acceptance.
2. The film is vague about the motives of the characters. Tsubaki went to the human world, and the description of the human world was almost nothing. Kun's appearance and behavior are incomprehensible. He took his sister on a boat in the sea just to play fish, play the flute, and even wave on the boat all day. This blunt plot, I understand it to show off 3D technology and painting skills (in fact, I feel that there is more than one suspicion of showing off technology). By the way, bluntly establish a "bond" with the heroine? The plot of Kun rescuing the heroine is also quite reluctant. This also paved the way for the audience's incomprehension of the heroine's behavior and doubts about the whole plot.
3. The interaction between characters in the movie is basically equal to none. The world in which the heroine Chun lives looks very interesting, all kinds of ancient gods, what Zhu Rong Houtu ah. However, they were all taken. Chun used half her life to save Queen Kun, but what she thought and did had nothing to do with the world she lived in, and she didn't even interact with her family. The heroine Tsubaki is completely intoxicated in her personal world, especially the dream that she had, turned out to be dancing with mermaids. It can be seen that the screenwriter really likes Tsubaki, and tried his best to add a lot of special effects to Tsubaki.
4. Self-cultivation of a spare tire - the ultimate tool man. What Qiu did to Tsubaki was used by the screenwriter as a tool, all to promote the development of the plot. Qiu's love for Chun was never touched at all, and there was not even a single scene in the movie about the common memories of Qiu and Chun, which was too cruel for Qiu's later sacrifice without regrets. The audience generally expressed great sympathy for the extreme spare tire and excellent tool man who was abandoned after use up.
5. Except for Qiu, other characters are also tools. Chun's grandfather, the descendant of Shennong, has the most roles among the supporting roles, but he only appears in: the heroine wants to rescue Kun to find her grandfather--leads like ascending a building; Qiu is poisoned by snakes, her grandfather detoxifies--strengthening Qiu Guilt to Tsubaki? ; In order to save Kun, Chun's grandfather, who had turned into a tree, spontaneously ignited and summoned Chun's grandmother, Phoenix, to rescue him; finally, he saved the clan. This is evident, as are the other supporting roles.
6. A script that speaks to itself. Due to the problem described above, it has actually become the screenwriter's self-talk, and the audience has been unable to understand the plot and substitute personal emotions. In order to strengthen the motive of the heroine, the screenwriter used her grandfather's mouth to say: (to the effect) to be brave to love someone, to be brave to do what you want to do in your heart, as long as your heart is kind, right or wrong It's all someone else's business. Such remarks constitute a great irony with the disaster that her clansmen Mo Ming suffered.
7. Self-pitying Qiu? Due to the problem described above, Qiu has a big emotional outburst at the end of the story, which makes people feel inexplicable. The logic of the characters' behavior is completely incomprehensible. The feeling is that if the screenwriter hadn't arbitrarily excerpted some lovelorn words on the Internet, then it is estimated that he was projecting his own feelings, talking to himself, and self-pity.
8. To repay your kindness, do you have to promise yourself? Just this sentence actually shattered the motives of all the heroine's actions. A story, the motivation and logic from the beginning are untenable, coupled with the writer's inability to write, creating such an awkward plot. Overall: The audience cannot understand what Chunwei has done for Kun, nor can they understand Qiu's entanglement and suffering, nor can it understand Qiu's sacrifice. This is a huge failure for a script!
Having said so much, I am actually very happy that such an animation is released. Maybe because the animation category is not so valued in movies, and there are not many excellent screenwriters to join the animation script writing, the plot is very bad. It has excellent art style, excellent music, and it is still very good. And the characters in this style are also very beautiful, especially the heroine Chun. Seeing the Fujian Tulou in the movie also makes people smile. Overall, except for the plot, the characters and style of painting are still worth watching.
