At the risk of offending a bunch of people, I wrote the aftermath of the film "Big Fish and Begonia".

First of all, I didn't mean to make enemies, nor did I mean to make a different voice, and all the things I wrote only represent my own personal views, and I hope you don't mind because of their strong personal colors. There should be spoilers ahead, so friends who haven't seen the movie should be careful.

The first impression is that the picture is really beautiful, but it is estimated that because of the poor effect of Shangying Yonghua, I felt a little dark in the whole process of watching. But the pictures I like very much are the following: the sunset in the world, the city, the river of lights, and the starry sky, the clouds and mists of the underwater world, and the last begonia tree. Because the movie shots are all flashes, it is these magnificent images that can be remembered. In fact, as professional friends have interpreted, many details have been carefully done. The names of costumes, props, and characters refer to many traditional Chinese elements. It took a lot of effort to present a sophisticated effect.

The second feeling, the brain hole is really big, praise the imagination. Different from humans, "others" who exist in gods, the underwater world, the rat of the rat and the cat of the ghost. It is said that the inspiration for the reverse osmosis of sea water came from Nuwa's patching of the sky, which is very awesome. Kun is from Zhuangzi's "Easy Journey", everyone must know it, after all, I have recited it so many times in high school. To me, who doesn't know much about traditional culture, Lei Zu and Zhu Rong sound familiar, one spinning and the other playing with fire. As for others such as Deer God and Akatsuki, I really don't know where they came from. It is necessary to reflect on this here. It may be that we have ignored traditional Chinese culture, so it is difficult to arouse a sense of resonance when we see these characters.

The third feeling is that the level of dubbing is uneven. The voices of mother, Qiu, and Chun are easy to make people play. I feel that the voice and characters are sorry, but the dubbing of Lingpo is a special bonus. Teacher Jin Shijie is really an old driver. After all, people who hold everything in movies and dramas. As soon as Ling Po opens her mouth, you will feel from your heart, "Yes, this is very Ling Po." Personally, Ling Po is the fullest character in the whole film. Teacher Jin's voiceover is indispensable.

The fourth feeling, the protagonist's lines could have been better. But the lines in it really made me accept incompetence. The most embarrassing thing is that several laughing points are in the lines, but not the lines are humorous, but the lines make people dance. Suddenly jumped from a tragedy to the domestic Mary Sue plot. The overall lines don't make much sense. Among the animations I watched recently, my favorite is "Shaun the Sheep". There are no lines, but each character image is very full. These are completed through the plot, the behavior of the characters, and the expressions.

Last point, I really like the picture and music of this movie, but I really can't stand the plot and three views. Of course, you can also say that I have become secular, popular, no longer romantic, and I don’t believe in love at first sight. I still have to be serious here. He, even if it was because Kun sacrificed to save her, I don't know if it was retribution or love or both. I also agree with "Do things with good intentions, right or wrong is someone else's business", but can you really do whatever you want with sincerity and good intentions? Can you ignore family members and innocent people? There is also the plot, which does not constitute a strong conflict, does not cry or laugh, and does not feel that the heart is in the throat. Before watching it, I thought I would be moved to tears, but I always felt that the screenwriter couldn't make me cry, and it was heartbroken. (Of course it varies from person to person).

I remember that when "Little Times" was released, countless people criticized it as a beautiful MV, but "Little Times" looked like Guo Jingming's money-making routine. And "Big Fish and Begonia", we can't say that it is a money-making MV. After all, so many traditional elements have been discovered and applied. The beautiful pictures and soundtrack have indeed drawn us a fantastic and grand world. In the grand world, the plot makes the story look like a leaf, so thin that it has nowhere to go. The most important point is that during the marketing and promotion period, we have consumed too much of our feelings, so when we hand over this answer sheet, we will inevitably be disappointed. I hope that the domestic animation will become better and better.

Big Fish & Begonia quotes

  • Lingpo: What brings you to the Island of Souls?

Chun: There's a soul I'm looking for: the soul of a human boy

Lingpo: What time was it he died?

Chun: It was two days before the wheat harvest.

Lingpo: You need to be sure of the date. Otherwise you're searching for a needle in a haystack. So many die every day.

Chun: I'm sure. It was my birthday.

Lingpo: I know what you're trying to do, girl, and it goes against the laws of nature!

Chun: I don't care. I've got to save him!

Lingpo: The punishment is harsh for those who defy nature, no matter who you are, so you *should* care.

Chun: But I owe him, for saving my life.

Lingpo: How very touching. I've been stuck here for 800 years, and I'm still not done paying penance for my sin!

    Chun: But you didn't...!

Lingpo: Don't interrupt! Let me tell you what real tragedy is. Meeting someone you care about so much you forget yourself and make a mistake. So then you go back and try to fix it and make things right again, and then you learn that fixing it's impossible.

    [chuckles]

Lingpo: We can never undo the wrongs we've done. This I know.

Chun: You're saying you won't help me?

Lingpo: I'm saying I pity you. Besides, resurrecting someone from the dead doesn't come cheap.

    Chun: What would it cost?

Lingpo: No less than a lovely girl's loveliest features: your eyes.

    Chun: [winces]

    Lingpo: [laughing] Now she's scared.

    [chuckles]

Lingpo: Don't want to give up your pretty eyes, eh? All right, I'll take half your life instead.

Chun: If that'll save him, take it.
