Clear the clouds and see the sun

I watched this movie three times last year. Seen together and split, each time I want to explore the director's intentions from the details. However, just like the tangled relationship between the male and female protagonists in the story, after watching it three times, new cognition and old viewpoints are intertwined, and there is always no way to come up with a clear idea. But a lingering and vague idea kept pushing me to write something about it. Write something? Where to start? Confused. A year later, when I finally put this idea into words, I relived the four stories in the film again in my memory. At the moment when the four stories were strung together in my mind, like sunlight shining through the clouds, a new understanding suddenly burst into my mind, and my thoughts suddenly became clear. Story 1: Depression. The beautiful encounter between the hero and heroine stopped abruptly when everyone thought it was about to develop to a climax. The man pulled away and turned back again, but did not bring the passion that the woman expected. The seemingly gentle caress and the resolutely leaving back do not want to destroy the yearning for pure love in the depths of their hearts, or to take revenge on a woman for the first time without saying goodbye? However, whether it's the first encounter or the second reunion, the protagonists' emotions are repressed, but we'll never understand why they're repressed. Story 2: Let go. A man and a woman who don't even know each other's names have an inexplicable relationship. After meeting and leaving, the director who was looking for the story didn't even say a few words, but the girl told the uninvited guest her secret hidden in her heart, and took him home to share the bed. Is the director stalking a strange girl out of curiosity or lust? And then have sex with her because of admiration for her or to comfort her? What happened behind the beautiful girl who stabbed her father to death with 12 knives? No one knows, or they themselves don't want to look into it. It's just that the girl's repressed secrets and emotions need an outlet, and the man she didn't know just made her choice. And for that man, this lonely girl may be an entity to which his inspiration was suddenly released. Story Three: Entanglement. A man who uses lies and sex to stray between his wife and his lover, a wife who loves her husband deeply but cannot tolerate her husband's repeated betrayal, a woman who can't stop after falling in love with someone else's husband, the spirit and flesh, love and Hate is intertwined. In the end, the grieving wife removed all his furniture, and, quite dramatically, her new house was empty, and the furniture had been removed by the hostess who couldn't stand alone for so long. Maybe from now on, the woman has another way to deal with the man who makes her sad - remove his furniture. Story Four: Transcendence. This is a segment about reality and metaphysics. From the very beginning, the boy has been chasing the girl, from the girl's house to the long stone path to the dull church, to the dazzling fountain, and then back to the girl's residence, the boy has been Find various topics and try to strike up a conversation with the girl, until the old wooden door closes tightly behind the girl. The boy pursues the intoxicating love between men and women, while the girl seems to have transcended her instincts. Her life, who has seen through the essence of life, can only belong to the God she trusts. Body and soul, so close, so far. The development of the four stories from repression - laissez-faire - entanglement - detachment, isn't it the trajectory of the development of people's thoughts and emotions? Of course, not many people can finally transcend material life like the girl who is going to enter the convent, because most people's body and mind are struggling between the repression of passion and desire, laissez-faire and entanglement, and it is difficult to extricate themselves. Perhaps, naming the film after "Days on the Clouds" ("BEYOND THE CLOUDS" translated as "On the Clouds" may be more apt to the theme of the film) itself already shows that most people in this world live in the clouds. Here, day and night are busy with real life, but the inner emotions are like white clouds floating in the air, leaving the solid earth on which to live, where will it end up?
