Open Supplement to the End of "Ruins of Horror"

Very plain horror movie. There are no sudden or bluffing horror and thriller scenes in the film. Except for the vines that feed on people, the film's mirroring and rhythm give people a documentary look, more like a survival or adventure story. The entire adventure story is also connected back and forth into a ring. Those who went to explore the Mayan ruins were buried here after leaving a place outside. The former "disappeared" successively attracted the latter.

The end of the film is also very open. But overall there is still a lack of some core things. Perhaps putting more focus on the display and change of the character's personality in survival can be more substantive.

The end of the film Amy’s death also echoes "the indigenous shot and killed the Greek who was holding a camera close to him who might have touched the vine" and "without hesitation shot and killed the indigenous child who was touched by the stone in the vine", It proves that once contacted, it will be parasitized and will undoubtedly die.

The end of the second paragraph behind the scenes is more open. The two Greeks who came to search passed the car where Amy died and were still able to enter the Mayan ruins. Combining the Mayan civilization to guess, people's entry has not been prevented for a long time. Perhaps the indigenous people themselves guarded the vines that grew on the sacred pyramid building, and they also needed to use people as a kind of sacrifice to maintain the prosperity of the ancient vines; later, Amy After driving away from the pyramid building, the natives knew that they did not stop the spread of vines and migrated, abandoning each city until the final destruction, using a vine plant of a different kind of power as the killer of the Maya civilization to explain the disappearing Maya civilization. Brains are wide open.

After watching the film, I further learned about the Maya civilization. Its cognition in the digital calendar and other aspects is really surprising. The faults in the historical record also cast a mysterious veil on the disappearance of the Maya civilization. Human's limited cognition. Looking forward to new discoveries in the future.

The Ruins quotes

  • Jeff: [grabbing a water bottle from Stacy] We should save this.

    Eric: Hey, she's thirsty.

Jeff: I know, it's just that we don't have that much.

Eric: Well why do you get to decide Jeff?

Jeff: Okay, well we can all decide. But just keep in mind that each of us needs a half a gallon of water every day just to survive. And right now, we don't even have a day's worth.

  • Jeff: One of you has to go.

    Amy: Go? Go where?

Jeff: Down. We're going to check the rest of the rope and make sure it's secure, and then one of you...

Amy: [interrupting him] Why do we have to go? Why can't you or Eric?

Jeff: Because you're not strong enough. We need to work the crank.

Stacy: [after a long pause] I'll go.
