Two-line narrative, although the film is named after the heroine, the main line is still dominated by Cui Minzhi, "Pai Lan", which is an introduction to a love film. Is there love? Yes, it is the most unique kind of love in the world. They are the nominal husband and wife in a fake marriage, he is a middle-aged gangster, she is an orphan in a foreign land, she is trafficked by human traffickers, and he can be said to be an accomplice. They never met when they were alive, but she fell in love with him because of a smiling photo, and he fell in love with her because of her love. It is a pity that this love was missed because of death, but it was death that made this love manifest. If it wasn't for Bai Lan's death, they could meet while they were alive, would Jiang Qi pay any attention to her? Will he change the evil for her? Is there warmth? have. They never met, but fell in love in letters and photos. Bai Lan is astonishingly kind. She was trafficked and bullied, but she still thinks: Everyone here is kind, but you are the kindest one because you married me. Jiang Qi is so sloppy that it is staggering. He may have never felt such tenderness and love in his life, so he wanted to change for this warmth, and he gave his life for it. Is this love and tenderness? Indeed. But it was wrapped in indifferent reality. The director used love to capture the chaos and darkness of Korean society at that time. The first half hour of the movie is all about the sloppy, dirty living environment of Jiang Qi, full of sin and tyranny. And a beautiful person like Bai Lan eventually died in this dark society. The keynote of the film is black and sinful, but the interspersed Bai Lan clips are pure white and fresh, and the director's intentions are obvious. To be honest, the life of Jiang Qi described in the first half does make people feel uncomfortable. It completely breaks the rules of love movies, breaking girls' hearts and love dreams: it turns out that there are such filthy and wretched existences in the world. The reason why this movie is tepid must also have something to do with this. In the era of popular romance films, how many people are willing to buy it so straightforwardly about the bottom and the dark side of society? However, the plot is indeed a bit slow and the foreshadowing is a bit long. The first half hour looks a little stuffy, and there are some anticlimactic regrets. Apart from these, whether it is the interlude technique, the use of long shots, the connotation of the film, and the performance of the actors, they are all wonderful, recommended
