The Cue of Logo

After finishing this video, my first thought is a stun that I've known so many Logos without any awareness. I have to say nowadays the marketing is so powerful and successful! There are so many companies, institutions, unions using logos instead of just names. These logos can be well designed and convey an accurate information about the products or service to public. When mention about some company, people think of the logo first. According to this allusive video, is this power true?

Gourmet Food VS Fast Food
As we can see in this video, battle between Gourmet Food(Michelin) and Fast Food(McDonald's) is the main line of this story. Business battle can be as cruel as a real one.
McDonald's "killed" some companies passing by, and Michelin accidental injure some innocent "citizen". McDonald's is so "fast" that nobody can catch him which makes him so pride. He laughs at Enron and K-mart but finally fall down in front of Weightwatchers.
My interpretation: Michelin focuses on the Gourmet Food and give stars to these good restaurants, but McDonald's as a representative of Fast Food comes in and soon takes over the stomaches of customers which leads lot's of companies close down. McDonald's is doing so well in his business. During this time, even Enron and K-mart close down because financial fraud and low-cost competitors respectively.
McDonald's stands for companies which produce low-cost shoddies. They are so popular in the world and make traditional companies like K-mart become a "Loser". Some companies don't take their business as serious things and for their own good they cheat for profit like Enron. But time goes on, McDonald's can not always be the "King", new generation and more competitive companies are coming, like Weightwatchers which is taking the market share of McDonald's.
This is the business battle which has a more and more cruel and immoral trend.

Petrol-controlled Economy
At the end of this video, the earth quack (because of petrol) destroys every brand.
My interpretation: These Logos(Nowadays Companies) are based on the petrol-controlled economy. As the petrol price going up, no company will survive.

Inanity of Logos
So as for the power of Logos, yes, it rules all the thoughts of us about products and service. But basically, Logos is in inanity and have no power to rule the world.

Logorama quotes

  • Michelinman Mike: Oh, God. It was... you know what? You should come with us next time.

Michelinman Mitch: No, man. I don't like zoos.

Michelinman Mike: Aw, man. But the kids go apeshit for it.

Michelinman Mitch: Yeah, well, I don't see my kids that much. Besides, it's depressing.

Michelinman Mike: What? Getting up close to animals? I mean, where the hell else you going to get that close to a cheetah?

Michelinman Mitch: Yeah, that cheetah can run like a motherfucker, but in a zoo, they ain't got enough room to hit second gear. I mean, it ain't like they're in their natural habitat.

Michelinman Mike: Yeah, no shit, man. That's cause they'd be dead if they were in their natural habitat. These animals have been rescued. Usually injured or something in like the, you know the wild, or blind.

    Michelinman Mitch: No shit?

    Michelinman Mike: No shit.

Michelinman Mitch: See? I didn't know that.

Michelinman Mike: Yeah, that's what I'm saying.

Michelinman Mitch: That's even more depressing. That's what I'm talking about. A blind ass cheetah bumping into trees and shit. That shit's fucked up.

Michelinman Mike: I didn't say the cheetah was blind.

Michelinman Mitch: Well then what's blind?

Michelinman Mike: N-nothing's blind. It's just an example.

Michelinman Mitch: Well then that's a fucked up example of some shit right there, man. That's what I'm talking about. Blind cheetahs and shit.
