The World Is Big and Salvation Lurks Around the Corner, I admit that the first thing that attracted me was the English translation of the film. Because the weird Russian-looking title Светът е голям и спасение дебне отвсякъде really drove me crazy, and then Taiwan translated this film wonderfully, and met love at the corner of the world.

This is a Bulgarian film, but it is shot across four countries: Bulgaria, Germany, Hungary and Italy. In the movie, you can enjoy a very distinctive medieval Eastern European street scene. An old man who is over half a hundred years old but in good spirits appeared next to Alexander, a young man who was lying in the hospital and lost his memory due to a car accident. He claimed to be Alexander's grandfather and came from Bulgaria. He also brought an old photo and a box of backgammon, and told Alexander about his childhood. A series of intimacy did not evoke Alexander's memory, but made Alexander extremely uncomfortable. So, all the old man could do was come to the hospital to play chess with Alexander every day. The beating pieces seemed to touch something deep in Alexander's heart, and he established primary trust in the old man. In order to arouse Alexander's memory and regain his courage to live an active life, the old man decided to take Alexander on a journey of "homecoming". A joint car, beautiful scenery along the way, Alexander encounters beautiful love on the way with the encouragement of the old man, regains the confidence and courage to live an active life, and recently retrieves the memory of the past in an asylum in Italy...

Eastern European film Many of them will reflect the political aspect of a certain historical period from a certain aspect. The protagonist Alexander lived with his parents and grandparents since he was a child. Due to some political problems of his grandfather Baidan, the whole family was forced to move to Germany. Alexander has been withdrawn since childhood. The playwright is not blindly digging into the haze of politics, but passing it over like a light touch. A car accident kills Alexander's parents and he loses his memory, and the plot begins to fluctuate. Childhood memories, beautiful first loves, old rattan chairs, family birthday parties, everything becomes blank. Grandpa rushed to the hospital in Germany alone, doing everything possible to help him retrieve his memory. Then decided to go home.

The two then brought a pot of flowers and a bottle of wine and rode a joint car to set off south. Along the way, his grandfather Bai Dan not only tried to help Alexander retrieve his memories, but also taught him various life philosophies that seemed free and easy, but in reality, with the beautiful scenery along the way and the company of Bai Dan, the journey gradually approached the end, the memories that Alexander forgot, It has become more and more clear.

"New Bulgaria", when the trio was running on the vast and fresh land of Eastern Europe again, the camera stayed on the huge billboard on the side of the road. The new Bulgarian is also the new life of the protagonist Alexander. After all, he came out of the haze and not only started a new life, but also found his true love.

About family love, about human nature, warm plots and sophisticated narrative skills build the soul of this film. That's why I'm so fascinated by this story, it addresses the simplest yet most important question of our lives: Who am I? where am i from? How should I live my life? Indeed, thought provoking.
