This "cell" is actually a prison

Very good film, I watched it many years ago, and watched it again many years ago. It uses gorgeous scenes to express the inner world of human beings, and separates the split personality of a perverted murderer with a king-like demon and a lonely and helpless little boy. It is quite in place.
What I want to talk about here is the translation of the title. "The Cell", Chinese is translated as "invasion of brain cells", in fact, this translation is not good. Cell means cell, but it also means battery, single cell, honeycomb, and smallest unit. The Chinese translator understood cell as a brain cell because the psychologists and police detectives in the film have penetrated into the consciousness of the perverted killer, which is not appropriate at all. Don’t you see that this film is full of "single cells" of all sizes? From abandoned farms with no human population, to basements no one knows about, and glass boxes in the basements with blonde girls, and deserts that autistic children cannot get out of; the magnificent and dark palaces in the murderous consciousness; that The weak and helpless children who lost their way in the murderer's palace (in fact, the surviving childhood memories of the murderer), it is these large and small "single prison cells" that make up this movie. I remember that "Science Fiction World" magazine translated this movie into "claustrophobia" (the time is too long, maybe the memory is wrong, but that's what it means), I think it is much more appropriate than "invading brain cells".
When it comes to the translation of movie titles, some are well translated, and some are surprising. "Matrix", the most direct translation is "Matrix", it is fair to say, the popular translation "The Matrix" is basically not related to movies. The most terrifying translation is called "22th Century Murder Network", a good film was so ruined (if I remember correctly, this super bad translation also comes from "Science Fiction World").

The dream exploration paragraph is very imaginative and symbolic, and it is just right to grasp the light and heavy tastes. And the actual case-solving story is really not very interesting.

I re-watched this film, even if it was a 2000 film, it was so amazing, it was the deepest and most gorgeous nightmare of my childhood, maybe my aesthetic view was also influenced to some extent.
