The person in the dream can transcend the boundary between the material and the soul and come to your side.
Are we humans or puppets?
Matter controls the mind, or the mind controls the matter?
In Solaris, there is no answer, only choice.
Mankind has a choice to correct the wrong choices in the past.
Some people reject all of this and choose to leave for the truth.
Someone accepts all this and chooses to stay for love.
In Solaris, there is no life or death, only love and hate.
Human emotions transcend time and space and transcend boundaries.

Maybe this is just the singing of the sea witches on the way back home from Odysseus,
