After reading the original novel, I liked it very much. I watched this movie with anticipation, and I am very happy that it did not live up to my expectations.
A very reasonable modern adaptation, the heroine obviously has a clearer understanding of love than Madame Bovary in the past, so the tragedy that happened to Madame Bovary will not be repeated for the heroine. But the heroine still died, in a very funny way: three men participated together, causing the heroine to choke on a piece of bread, which can be said to be very unexpected to the audience.
This unexpected ending is the biggest highlight of the movie, and from here the movie completely exposes its comedy movie identity.
The ending of the heroine still has its tragic end, because of an accident, the heroine's beautiful future, which was originally planned to be rehabilitated, came to an abrupt end. But this tragedy has long since been diluted. What's more, the heroine's death was because of the love of three men for her, which is so different from Madame Bovary's suicide in despair. The heroine's death is dramatic.
Stories like Madame Bovary will still happen in modern times, but only a few ignorant and ignorant people will fall into such a trap. Modern education has given us a richer life, and women no longer need to regard love as everything, do they?
