Count the two Christmas specials in the second season.
The Christmas Invasion
Rating: 5/10
I have no feelings for the villain. As an introduction set after rebirth, the Doctor actually appeared for so little time. Although I like the funny scene between him and Rose's mother, there really isn't much to say about the whole episode, and I don't really like it. The villain design is actually okay, but I think it's still too mediocre. And Rose accepted the new Doctor too quickly, and as a result, the role of Rose in the rest of the season did not develop much.

RTD can come up with some interesting topics from time to time. This episode is simply talking about the relationship between humans and non-human animals, but the solution to the crisis is still too mechanical. I always felt that Cassandra's ending was not handled very well, and it felt weird, but now it seems like Cassandra reconciled with myself, even if sometimes the plot of RTD may not be very explosive, but I really like his treatment of these characters processing. Confidential seems to have mentioned that there is still a scene that has not been made. It's a pity, in fact, I don't think this episode is as bad as others say, no matter how bad it is, it's not as bad as Time and Rani. It would be much better if RTD let the Doctor destroy these new humans according to his original idea, but it is too tragic and may not be suitable for this kind of family fun theater.
s02e02 Tooth and Claw
Rating: 4/10
When I think that I got into the pit with this episode, I think I really love B-movies. In this episode, only the Queen of England has been successfully portrayed, and the other characters are not at the level of RTD at all. Although Rose teased that the Queen was creating a toxic relationship between Rose and the Doctor, the occasion was really out of character. And the whole diamond usage is not logical. The loopholes in this episode are really too obvious. After The Long Game, RTD has contributed to things below the level. I don't know how I was attracted to this episode in the first place, maybe I was young and curious. As a Bjork fan, I can totally ignore the opening remarks.
s02e03 School Reunion
Rating: 5/10
Except for the part of Sarah Jane, the whole story is not very good, and Uncle Anthony is really good at acting. The villain's setting is good and worth returning, but the villain's plan in this episode really left me speechless, which made me a little doubt that even if the white house took over the position of chief screenwriter, it may not be able to meet the expectations of the fan circle, anyway, the fan circle will never be Satisfied, and liked the old version through rose-tinted glasses. Then the scene where Micky pulled the plug to save the students was quite speechless. There are really many such lousy solutions in DW. All the points that can be given are given to Sarah Jane.
s02e04 The Girl in the Fireplace
Rating: 3/10
There is a lot of nonsense in the script of the magic special, and this episode is also, I can't get into it, I really want to watch it at double speed. Looking back, I just forgot about this episode after watching it, and I wasn't impressed by Mike's script. The villain's design is not bad, and the idea of using human organs as spaceship parts is also very good. For me, magic special is only suitable for ideas, and the scripts written are rarely able to win my heart. After rewatching it, I can understand that some people will say that the relationship between the characters in this episode is a toxic relationship. I also don't understand that the Doctor just left Rose and Micky in that ship to die. Although I didn't like the relationship development plan between Rose and the Doctor in season 2, this episode just ruined the plan, if RTD didn't realize it At this point, RTD has to lose a few layers in my mind. Maybe RTD loves magic too much to pass his script.
s02e05/06 Rise of the Cybermen/ The Age of Steel
Rating: 6/10(part 1) 6/10(part 2)
The introduction of Cybermen is not as good as the old Tenth Planet. This double episode is still quite satisfactory, not as good as Dalek's last season. Those exaggerated transformation machines are too inconsistent. This is what I don't like in the RTD1 period, but it is too funny. Although I think it is a tribute to the old version, I think the new era should abandon the ones that are not suitable for the era. Old elements, so please don't have these things in the RTD2 era, at least not so many. Although I hate that the Doctor saves the world by relying on his mouth cannons, this pair of episodes is a good one, because the mouth cannons are sending messages through the air instead of directly acting on the villain, and they still use physical attacks in the end. I don't think Micky's story line is well told, so I'm not very moved by the scene he left, although compared to Rose, he at least still has the development of the character line.
s02e07 The Idiot's Lantern
Rating: 5/10
Not sure why I feel like the beginning gives me a little bit of an X-Files vibe. I really like the looks of the Doctor and Rose in this episode. After rewatching this episode, I finally understand why so many people don't like the episode of Magic's Wi-Fi monster. There are too many similarities between these two episodes. It's a very mediocre episode. It doesn't have any bright spots. Although I don't like Mike's script, I also think that the stories written by Mike are generally boring, but I don't think there are so many flaws. I don't know why so many people hate it. set.
s02e08/09 The Impossible Planet/ The Satan Pit
Rating: 9/10(part 1) 10/10(part 2)
The scene where Scooti leads the bento is really good, and the tribute to the old version when everyone watched her being sucked away by the black hole, including the Satan in these two episodes is the devil who paid tribute to the old version, the old and the new are combined well, you must add points . Ood is very well designed, and it's interesting to be set as a slave species. Murray Gold's music in these two episodes is superb, as well as imitating the tracks in Alien. The special effects are still a little bit 5 cents, but these two episodes are really the most cinematic in the first four seasons of the new version. There are also some interesting dialogues. The lines are really well written. The screenwriter of this two episodes is also the one I hope to return. I think his two episodes are much better than the two episodes of the last season of Magic. The bento in most of the stories in RTD1 period is very important. Although there are two super vase characters in this double episode, the main characters are very heroic. The Doctor of Plot Arrangement stated that his belief lies in the fact that his companions are really good, plus the music is so strong and the lines are so good that no matter how many flaws I have, I can't help but give full marks to the next episode. It is precisely because of these two episodes that I didn't give up the drama. Although Blink took the limelight later, I will find that these two episodes are really wonderful!
s02e10 Love & Monsters
Rating: 4/10
I can now understand why everyone on RTD was yelling at the beginning... I watched it in order and until this episode, RTD didn't write a few episodes of shocking stuff, and this episode broke the bottom line again. However, I quite like this kind of "retrospective" unique to the RTD1 era, especially Turn Left in the fourth season. The idea of this episode is pretty good. I really like the LINDA team's mutual aid group relationship. The idea of this group of people forming a band can be used to make a light comedy, and this episode is still quite funny. But the villain is too much like a copy of Society, although it seems to be a design by the audience's children. I didn't hate this episode that much until the villain was revealed and the "creative" of the brick face came along...the latter I really couldn't stand.
s02e11 Fear Her
Rating: 4/10
I heard that this episode is a backup script, so the quality is not good, but it is not that bad, I can't understand why so many people hate this episode. In fact, it is very boring and mediocre. It is not so hateful. It is quite a children's drama. Everything in this episode is magical/fairy tale, but it is not too insulting to IQ. And there are some good plays. Looking at it again, I really think that child actors are really not very good at acting, and it looks a bit embarrassing. My favorite part of this episode is the scribbles that turn into entities. I only know that in reality, the doctor didn't light the torch, and he didn't even appear in the opening and closing ceremonies. Sure enough, DW is a niche.
s02e12/13 Army of Ghosts/ Doomsday
Rating: 8/10 (part 1) 6/10 (part 2)
I don't like the drama at the beginning when Rose said the essentials of a bento. Torchwood, an institution that is both good and evil, lost its charm after being reorganized by Colonel Jack, and even collided with UNIT. Daleks and Cybermen played against each other for the first time, and RTD was not handled well. Of course, it was also because Dalek basically had a much higher combat power than Cyberman, so that Cybermen became a supporting role in the vase in the next episode. Although RTD may not be able to write shocking ideas, most of his scripts and plots progress very naturally, and there is not too much feeling of being overwhelmed, but the part of Rose's father's time to save Rose is really unreasonable. The quality of the first episode was good, but the second episode is really not good, and the emotional drama is so so so long. And I really hate the ending of the dialogue in the air. I think Maute often writes such scenes. I thought that there would not be such a large number of sensational scenes after Maute took over, but it turned out to be worse.
The Runaway Bride
Rating: 6/10
The chemistry between Donna and the Doctor in the first episode was great. Even if the plot was a bit stupid, it couldn't stop me from loving this episode. Just watching the two of them is enough, and even the dialogue at the end didn't feel boring to me. As much as I love Rose, I really wish the Doctor moved forward sooner, but the next season is... ugh. The idea of Earth origin feels like a nod to City of Death, however I really don't like the latter, so I don't like the explanation in this episode either.
overall evaluation:
6/10
This season had my favorite story, but at the same time the other scripts were mostly mediocre. And this season's character handling can really be better, I agree with an idea I have seen: the main line of the characters in the whole season should be a few episodes of Rose's discomfort with the new doctor, and then slowly accept it, and then when Rose finally accepts the new doctor, she was thrown into a parallel world. Of course, I also understand the idea of RTD: Rose is more and more like a doctor, and this is the dialogue between Rose and her mother at the end of the season. It can be said that Clara basically followed this line of thinking, so I deeply feel that Magic has a love-hate relationship with RTD. Although Micky's character arc is there this season, I still feel that it is not handled well. Maybe because there are too few adventures involved, the drama of Micky becoming brave is still a bit old-fashioned. After Rose left, there was still a lot of sensational scenes, and I really couldn't accept it.
Since there is basically no change in the character creation, there is basically no conflict between Rose and the doctor, so that the whole season is more like an adventure story with the texture of most of the old versions. Even with the main line of Torchwood in this season, there is still a strong sense of alienation between the story and the story throughout the season, and it is not as "serial" as the previous season.
Although I haven't read the books on Confidentials and RTD, I also understand that being the chief screenwriter is a lot of pressure. You need a script, you need to make up the number of episodes required by the BBC, and there are bad comments from fans, like Magic. Death threats... Some production disasters in this season are quite old, too expensive to make Uncle Fried's script, so Fear Her replaced it. Originally RTD thought that 13 episodes included a Christmas special, but it turned out to be 13 episodes + Christmas The special, which led RTD to write the extremely despised Love & Monsters. In fact, even in the old version, not every story is top-quality. For a low-cost TV series like DW, the probability of top-level appearing is not high.
