The last time I watched a horror movie was when I was a senior. Can't remember the name. I was not frightened at all, and I cried at the end, because of sadness and sadness, the core idea of the whole film is the loss of social morality. The fate of the female ghost before her death was too tragic, and then she turned into a ghost to take revenge. I haven't watched a horror movie since.
This is the first time I've seen such a pseudo-documentary horror film. If you are a little scared, I write a movie review while watching it, so as not to be scared.
The mental hospital in the background of the story is superimposed on 1) the past of massacres of political prisoners; 2) the rumors that the dean committed suicide and the patients were killed collectively; 3) the story of three high school girls who went on an adventure and was scared to commit suicide; 4) recently two boys went to The story of the expedition live and the disappearance. There should be plot and story background echoes in the back.
It feels a little bit fake. Unexpected horror.
A group of young people who are keen on horror experience, with professional choreographers and captains. Young people happily chatting about horror scenes while drinking beer, thinking about making money from live broadcasts, they should be trying to contrast with the horror scenes that follow.
Then the live broadcast started. Fully equipped. I think these people can act well, and they deliberately exaggerate the horror atmosphere while being funny.
After entering, I went directly to the dean's room and brought the audience to the core area. The horror elements after that are 1) the photo; 2) the hair; 3) the sudden sound. It seems to be a common horror element. There is a lot of information on the photos, and the time the camera stays on is too short. If it takes a long time, you can play the script and kill it.
Then the scene of the laboratory, where the details of the laboratory are handled quite well. Many objects and furnishings allow viewers to make up their own minds about the abuse of political prisoners and spies. Humanoid dolls are a very common horror element, I don't know if this is a foreshadowing or what. Then there were two animal corpses, and I didn't know what to say.
Then went to the third floor. The wig doesn't seem too scary.
Then the screen cuts to the live room. The audience watching the live broadcast said it was not scary. There is a strong sense of immersion here.
Here comes a very fake seance. Finally, the director and the two boys admitted that they were acting. The light in the director's office suddenly went out and came on again. The design itself is not bad, but the fire on the stove suddenly ignited a little too much.
Back to the lab again. Charlotte was so frightened that she wanted to leave. This is quite the feeling of a coward in the expedition group when I was a child. The sense of substitution is strong. But based on the experience of playing werewolf, Charlotte may also be a wolf, playing all the time. The girl named Zhixian was caught and bleeding from her hand. I don't know what happened. If it was acting, I felt that the cost was quite large, and I couldn't see her motive for acting.
Then, Jiyeon and Charlotte got lost, and then Charlotte was frightened. I thought it was safe to escape, but the horror scene was moved from the mental hospital to the wild, and then the companion turned into a ghost. The place has a nice vibe. Rather unexpected.
However, in the last ten minutes, I didn't understand it at all and it ended... that is, all kinds of ghosts in the background of the previous story appeared, and then the protagonist died watching himself in the camera. The ending can probably be understood as the ghosts in the mental hospital who have been lonely for a long time can finally come out and have a revelry.
At first I thought it was a script kill, or that kind of hard historical book. To see the final discovery is a werewolf. The ghosts in the mental hospital are werewolves.
I'm probably not really suited for horror movies.
If this film really wants to dig deep into the political reality of South Korea, it is not interesting. It feels like an idea that was forcibly cobbled together.
