The promotion for the second part was seen when I went to Hong Kong in August. The first reaction is that the second part is finally here.
If the first one feels unfinished, the second one feels like a continual reversal.
Sin and Punishment is about the sins of the dead and the punishment of hell, and Cause and Fate is about the messenger's antecedents and the fate of family affection. Compared with the first one, there are indeed a lot less cool shots, a lot less strange scenes of hell, and the focus is on the description of emotions. Seeing that the God of Chengzao guards his grandfather and accompanies Xiandong to grow up healthily. This line, which I really like, is warm.
The second line is about the past lives of the three messengers in the underworld. Only Jiang Lin retains his memory and accompanies him for thousands of years with remorse for his father and younger brother. Lord Yama asked Jiang Lin, why didn't you tell the truth after a thousand years, why didn't you say sorry? Yes, I'm sorry, it seems easy to say, but when you say sorry, it's when you tell the truth yourself. How many people would dare to tell the truth, and would rather rot in their hearts than let them die? The truth is revealed.
In terms of storytelling, the second part has a lot of suspenseful reversal plots, which makes people feel more looking forward to it. During the period, I also added a funny plot, and then I laughed.
Overall, it's a pretty good movie. It's also worth thinking about. Recently, South Korea is really refreshing in terms of material selection. The hell theme plus modern elements does not violate the harmony at all. Recalling that China's "The Eighth Pawnshop" was a hit at that time, it is also this kind of fake and real plot that is more attractive.
Now wait for the third part to come out!
