The alien's vain attempt to help the people on earth realize the ideal of communism was finally shattered. The world was divided into collectives with countries as the unit, and then the war for interests began. And when aliens come and invade everyone’s brains, the Americans are no longer Americans, the Japanese are no longer Japanese, and the Iraqis are no longer Iraqis. They all take the same space shuttle. Fellow aliens who came to Earth. It's my own family, of course, there is no need for war. So aliens are not more harmonious than earthlings, they will also obliterate aliens, just like chasing Oliver. The end of the war was not because the aliens eliminated the violence, but since the world has been unified, of course there is no need for violence. Just as if all Iraqis became American citizens and became loyal followers of the White House, the Iraq war would also stop.
The director tried in vain to discuss political issues through a science fiction theme, but in the end he was inconsistent. The science fiction was not full of fun, and the political discussion was not deep enough. At the end, it is too simple to declare the alien’s ambitions to be bankrupt by spraying pesticides like insects on crops, and the final blank space is unavoidable.
Nicole Kidman is indeed beautiful, but apart from that, there is nothing else in this film.
