Who does "The Good Man in the Three Gorges" sympathize with?

Last night, I attended the premiere of Jia Zhangke's "The Good Man in the Three Gorges" at the Peking University Lecture Hall. It was the ticket given to me today by Bufanfan (Sun Jianmin). Finally, when I read the subtitles of the cast and crew, I realized that this guy was the literary planner of the film, and I admired him.

I'm ashamed to say that I haven't watched a director Jia's movie in its entirety before. I fell asleep unexpectedly at the beginning of "Platform", and I haven't had the courage to watch it again. My theory is that literary films are best watched in the cinema, with a little compulsion, to avoid all the temptations of "going to the toilet, making a cup of tea, the sofa is too comfortable, and you can continue to watch it after you can't finish watching it today", but Director Jia's film It seems that it never plays in the cinema. Is "The Good Man of the Three Gorges" the first movie to be released? The time is from December 7th to 14th. Because the blockbuster schedule at the end of the year is too full, it can only be performed for one week.

I have forgotten when was the last time I was moved by a movie. In the era of dazzling and complicated blockbusters, my senses were a little numb, and my mind was completely closed. When the first long shot of "The Good Man in the Three Gorges" unfolded on the ferry, I suddenly felt that the long-lost feelings were ignited. It used to be such a familiar scene and crowd. It seemed that I was on this boat many years ago. They played cards together, made noise, dozed off, teased the children... The long shot finally settled on one person, and I immediately realized that this person was an actor. Although his clothes, hairstyle, and demeanor were the same as those in front of him, he was completely absent. in their lives. The good explanation is that the protagonist is a foreigner, and he is really out of tune with the whole environment. Just like throwing me on that boat now, I should also lean on the rail and look into the distance, with deep eyes, and overlooking all living beings.

The film does not have that kind of story of ups and downs. It is more like a record of an ordinary life. A Shanxi man came to Fengjie to find his ex-wife. Another clue is that a Shanxi woman came to Fengjie to find her husband for divorce. What is more dramatic is that these two clues have no intersection. It just happened to happen in the same place, and this place is undergoing earth-shaking changes because of the Three Gorges Project. The two thousand-year-old city will be demolished in two months, and a building will be demolished in seven days, and a large number of people will leave their homes.

The beauty of the movie is reflected in the details, such as the right jokes, the punk pony, the child who sang "Mouse Loves Rice" affectionately, the bald singer in the dance hall, the bridge lighting, and the couple on the river bank inexplicably. Dancing, as well as abrupt surreal plots, a flying saucer swept across the sky, and an unfinished memorial tower suddenly flew like a rocket. In fact, literary films don’t have to be boring, at least Director Jia has learned to flirt with the audience. Because of this contrast, when I express the harshness, helplessness, and numbness of life, I am more tense, so I am moved while smiling.

"Recording life, compassionate feelings" is Director Jia's main appeal, and he basically did it. I don't know how others feel when watching this movie. I just think the scenes, characters and situations there are so familiar and part of my memory. , there is no need for any rendering, as long as it is there, I will naturally feel warm or sad. Occasionally, I suddenly feel like there is a drama, because I can tell at a glance that this part is acting and that part is real.

Most of the so-called sympathy comes from the view of the city people. In fact, the real insiders don’t feel so deeply. In my impression, most of my fellow villagers live strongly and live on their own one-third of an acre. With unparalleled dignity. On the contrary, when I went home for the New Year, I was often pitied by my relatives: "Your house is too small, you can't even raise a child." "It takes an hour to go to work? Why don't you quit your job?" "You can't take a nap at noon. Are you in New China's territory?" "Let you apply for a temporary residence permit? I'm against him? Next time, I will come to someone from Beijing to see how I treat him and help you breathe out."

You pity me, I pity you, Isn't this society harmonious?
