The family is very small, and I was very reluctant when I moved in a few years ago, but now I sit down with gratitude. Thinking of "The Good Man in Three Gorges" I just watched yesterday, the protagonist Zhang Sanming has a lot of luggage and nothing of value. Then I understood that Jia Zhangke was helpless, and he was talking about home.
How can there be no sex when writing about the bizarreness of contemporary China? In particular, Chongqing is rich in beautiful women, and Sichuan girls are all over Dongguan, and everyone can see them. Chen Guo's "Durian Fluttering", which is what he wrote.
But these people who betrayed themselves for thousands of miles, what they did is a commitment to their family. The hope is that he has also sold his soul and can buy back his own home. No matter how upheaval the nature of modern China is, it still revolves around the family; whether it is ambiguous or indulgent, or born in the 1980s or before the Cultural Revolution, we are still dreaming of an eternal haven, a comfort zone where a well-off can forget the storms outside.
Therefore, what we see in the Three Gorges Good People is not a relationship, not a relationship, but the disintegration of the family. The man is in Shanxi, the woman is in Sichuan, and the daughter is in the south; the woman who wants to get a divorce has only one day left to deal with a home that does not exist, and has to travel thousands of miles to Jiangling. Or the saddest thing is the group of widows who wear underwear every day. In the film, there is no complete home at all.
The lyrics of "If You Are Selling Wine" hit the nail on the head: "Without my home, there would be no you, without you, there would be no me? If you had not raised me and gave me a warm life; if you had not protected me, what would my fate be! "
Disintegration, demolition, Jia Zhangke is pessimistic, and the Three Gorges in the film are devastated. We can only rely on the surreal and supernatural imagination, and even the gods are gone. It is an unconscious despair. Many people are not able to accept these sudden strokes, which is indeed very inconsistent with the realistic style of the film; but I think this reflects the director's inability to think of a way out in all kinds of helplessness, and only appeals to the imagination of the world.
Finally, a group of widows went on the road to mine coal, and the Three Gorges were submerged. Let's go elsewhere to extract the grease from this earth! I hope this is not the fate of China.
