What we need is self-help

Heyou hesitated between "Nanjing Nanjing" and "Rabe Diary". Finally decided to choose a colorful one for the festival. At the same time, I also want to see how a foreigner's perspective sees this massacre that we are familiar with.
There is no moving and shocking, it feels like it is someone else's business. It has nothing to do with us except that it was the Chinese who were slaughtered. That final parting felt like the happy ending of any American blockbuster.
Foreigners can't understand that kind of pain. They put themselves in a position similar to that of God. Perhaps the reason why "Schindler's List" is touching is that it was made by the Jews themselves.
The last feeling is that people need to save themselves, and others cannot save you. This is true for individuals, and even more so for a nation.

It seems that more people are struggling with whether this is a foreigner's business or this is a foreigner's film. In fact, it is only about human nature. Just looking at the following film reviews seems to be able to reflect this very well...

As far as the movie itself is concerned, it is very general. That period of history cannot be described by a few movies, and we should not forget it. After the earthquake, many people in China have spared no effort to publicize how high the quality of Japanese people are, and they have shown great sympathy for Japan's losses, thus bringing out the nobleness of repaying grievances with virtue. But you have to remember that most people in Japan still deny their previous crimes and remember that you are Chinese.

Dr. Robert Wilson: Which makes him a Nazi.

Valérie Dupres: Are you a member of the church?

Dr. Robert Wilson: Yeah, so what?

Valérie Dupres: What do you think of witch burning?

Dr. Robert Wilson: Ah, well, looking at you, maybe it wasn't such a bad idea.
