The whole film does focus on Rabe's life rather than the Nanjing Massacre. Many scenes in it are handled too plainly, so the background of the film seems pale and weak, but the portrayal of Rabe is still very perfect. About Nanjing The massacre, I know about mass graves and the beheading of a hundred people, but I never knew about Rabe, a German who saved 200,000 Chinese by using his Siemens general manager and the identity of the Nazi Party. I feel that the filming is average, there is nothing too shocking, and the intensity is not enough. The focus of the film is on Rabe.
