The Dao is free in the heart

After coming into contact with "Qingbingwei of Dusk", I was moved by the ancient Japanese samurai described by Yamada Yoji, and dragged N Jiufang with an electric mule to download this "隠し剣國の隠". After reading it, I am full of emotion. I personally think it is the best part of Yamada Yoji's "Samurai Trilogy".
The film unfolds from the perspective of the lower-level samurai Katagiri, and describes in detail what happened in a small domain in the turbulent era at the end of the shogunate. Similar to the plot of "The Qingbing Guard of Dusk", the male protagonist, who is a lower-level samurai, received an order from his boss: to kill his former colleague + fellow disciple, he chose to obey from the perspective of his subordinates.
But the plot did not stop developing. When Katagiri discovered the ugly side of his boss, he did not endure it, but chose to use the "ghost claw" to assassinate the boss.
From this point of view, Katagiri is more rebellious and more open-minded than Qingbingwei, and for the "morality" in his heart, he did not hesitate to violate the "obedience" spirit in Bushido. Combined with Katagiri's decisive performance when he picked up the heroine from the merchant's house, it can be considered that Katagiri is more "MAN" and more likable than Qingbingwei~
Through Katagiri's life change from "obedience -> resistance -> recluse", combined with With the roar of the new guns, you can faintly see the gradual decline of the samurai class. Katagiri's injustice shouting at his brother who did not die under the samurai sword but under the foreign gun is like the echo of the wheel of the new era running over the samurai class~
This movie has a lot to watch, for example, from the perspective of an action movie, you You will find that the so-called "Masters, only for a moment" is a fairly correct description. The fighting plot in the film is very short, but it makes people nervous to watch every detail. In domestic martial arts films, you come and go, and every move is never repeated. The more fancy and beautiful the frame, the more attractive it is. In fact, how can there be so many tricks in real fighting? Think of the sharpness of a katana sword, just one stroke is enough. . .
And the fight in the film is definitely not a beautiful action. You will see the image of the samurai crawling all over the floor and their hair is disheveled, and you will also see the scene where the samurai is too tired to swing a knife, in fact, I want to say, this is the truth.
From a realistic point of view, this film portrays the turbulent era at the end of the curtain very deeply. The costumes and daily life of the characters in the film are in line with the background of the times. For example, the "kimono collar" bought by the protagonist for the heroine, after watching it combined with the "shirt collar" in modern Chinese movies, you will realize the director's restoration of Serious about the background of the times.
From the point of view of the plot, the director has always kept the secret of "Hidden Sword" very well. The protagonist's senior brother in the film has been persistently pursuing the secret of the hidden sword, but he did not understand it until he died in battle. It wasn't until the end that the audience knew what the so-called "hidden sword" meant. (I won't make any spoilers...)
From the perspective of emotional drama, the male lead undoubtedly performed well, showing the traditional forbearance of Japanese men to the fullest. Most of the time in the film, the expression is more serious, until the final confession to the heroine, it is also tactful and devious, and there is little eye contact. But the sincere love expressed is still touching.
Among the samurai trilogy, this film looks the most enjoyable, the female lead is the most beautiful, the male lead is the most stylish, and the story is the best, highly recommended~~
