The story begins with a mission of the IMF team. Kittridge, the leader of the IMF team, ordered Ethan Hunt and Jim’s team to carry out a mission to catch extremely secret disc thieves. However, this mission was completely designed by the CIA. The disc in the mission is fake, and the real purpose of the CIA is to catch the ghosts of the IMF team who also want to get this disc.
After everything was prepared, Ethan and his team members began to act. When the task was about to be completed, things changed. All members of the IMF team except Ethan were killed. Kittridge then suspects that the only surviving Ethan is the inner ghost. Ethan met with MAX as agreed, and he and MAX agreed to use real discs as a bargaining chip in exchange for the inner ghost. With the help of Claire, Ethan recruited his companions Krieger and Luther, and obtained the discs from the CIA headquarters. When a group of people hid in a secret stronghold, Ethan noticed that Krieger was extremely obsessed with the disc. Ethan informed MAX that it was trading on a moving train, and Kittridge also got news from Ethan and boarded the train. The two were accomplices.
