Now I always have to check the background for a long time before watching a movie, for fear of stepping on thunder. After all, "Operation Red Sea" is already the fifth film in this round of military-themed film innovations. You must have heard of the previous films. Last year, I wanted to watch "Wolf Warrior 2", but when I encountered an incident of aggressive Zhan Wolf fans biting people everywhere, I lost interest. The Spring Festival "Operation Red Sea" was released one day. After reading the comments of friends and neighbors, I thought it was okay, so I went to watch it. Sure enough, the film did not disappoint.
The plot of the film is very simple: (1) the team rescues the hostages on the ship; then they learn that a coup d'etat in a North African country, the expatriate convoy was calculated and blocked into a broken building, (2) the team went deep into the city to rescue the expatriates; then learned that an expatriate Kidnapped by terrorists, the terrorists sent a beheading video saying that if he did not agree to the request, he would kill the expatriate. (3) The team followed the government forces to the town where the terrorists were hiding, and exchanged fire with the enemy on the way. After getting rid of the enemy ( 4) Entered the town to rescue the hostages; but the terrorist leader had already left the town and went to the desert to trade in the raw materials for radioactive bombs. The main plot of the story is these five battles. Although there are some concatenated plots between each battle, it is obviously not important - in fact, about Xia Nan, what everyone can remember is that her husband and son died in terrorist attacks, and how about her, a young woman, I'm afraid it's "don't care" about the terrorist "getting it to the end", the original trading background of the batch of raw materials, what it has to do with Xia Nan's work, and the setting of William's role, etc. This is a war movie, not a spy movie.
I think audiences who have experienced the golden age of pirated shootouts in the last century will definitely not be disappointed watching this film. I'm not a military fan, so I can't be familiar with the weapons and tactics in it, but many scenes can remind people of some classic films such as "Black Hawk Down", "Body of Lies" and so on. There are not many close-range fighting scenes in the film (there are about two), which are mainly solved by shooting, and two parts are solved by tanks and stinger missiles. As a result, the entire film is filled with car explosions, grenades and gunfire. During the battle (2), the expats hid in an office, and the terrorists slowly approached with guns outside. The people inside were extremely frightened but dared not make a sound. People still feel different - really scared!
In addition to shooting at guns, most of the main scenes in the film come from vehicle charges and explosions. Anyone who cares can count how many cars were blown up in this film, it should be a very surprising number. The car bomb in (2), the row of cars blown up by mortars on the road in (3), and the junkyard where Tong Li was trapped in (4) are all impressive. In particular, the various vehicles that were attacked on the road in (3) had different arrangements for each vehicle (the bus was full of flesh and blood, and the military vehicle rose into the air).
In addition, there are many scenes of terrorists advancing from the two gates of the square in the small town at the same time. This kind of scene scheduling is also very good.
The bloodiness of the film is unprecedented. I think it is probably the bloodiest film released in mainland China after "Black Sun 731". I will not talk about the scene of bloodshed after the person was hit. There are several scenes of blood and blood in the film that are too impressive: (2) The barricade in Li was blown up by a car bomb and fell to the ground with no limbs. The gasping government soldiers; (3) the bus carrying civilians was hit by mortar shells several times, and the passengers at the back door were no longer human but still alive. In addition, there are a lot of close-ups of bodily injuries in the film, which can be described as horrifying, such as the half-face of our team members before their sacrifice, and the beheading of a reporter's assistant by terrorists in front of the camera. We have seen fighting and killing in many films, but this film's sharp display of death and war is rare in mainland Chinese films. I still remember that in the "Battle of Liaoshen", the cook took a load of pork stewed vermicelli into the position, and found that the position was quiet, the soldiers were all sacrificed, and the cook cried and let everyone eat: This is a side show of destruction. The frontal display of death is much sharper. The character Zhuang Yu in the film was greatly stimulated after the battle (3). He sat on the ground, silently picked up a broken finger from his side and put it back on the broken arm next to him. The mentality of the audience after watching this film is probably similar to that of him at this time.
This is also why I think the film is worth going to the cinema: For more than two hours, there were no heroic heroes waving the national flag, and there was no cowhide that "even if you are far away", even though our soldiers are well-trained, many people I couldn't save them, I could only watch them die in front of my eyes; the hostages with their hands tied behind their backs facing the knife, the passenger of the car in front of the mortar, the truck driver who was crying and rushed to the barricade with a bomb tied to his daughter's life, No matter how "faith" or "dream" they have, they have no choice, everything will become nothing. Bloody scenes, fierce gunfights, and blown-up cars all made a stark interpretation of this sense of powerlessness. It is rare to see the brutality of modern warfare so clearly expressed on the Chinese big screen. It is precisely because of this that people like the team in the film who strive for protection and rescue, and put their lives aside for this, are more worthy of admiration.
