An animation that should bring reflection

I just watched this animation and I wanted to give it five stars, but when I looked back and saw the 1972 version, I still gave the 2012 version four stars. In short, the extra hour of the plot is not very innovative and stunning. On the contrary, it puts a paper-like and humanized "American animation" set trap for the originally convincing plot; however, it is not commercialized. It should be totally denied, at least this is in line with the way modern people think and accept opinions. So to put it simply, this is an animation that truly expresses with heart and can show the audience views other than mainstream political correctness.

Perhaps this film can also be named "When a tree can speak", because the power of the whole film to promote human reflection is actually the pity and guilt for these vivid and lovely lives; but it is a pity that they are not so cute or not in real life. Individuals who can speak and express pain, but cannot "voice for rights" for themselves, are the ones most vulnerable to exploitation by greedy humans.

We can blame the problem on profit-seeking entrepreneurs: they regard money as everything, and they can play all kinds of beautiful lies to make consumers pay for their ignorance. However, we should not only push the responsibility of reflection on them. The spirit of reflection should be rooted in human nature.

"Being an environmentalist and a person working for the future of mankind." This sounds very unmodern, very unrealistic, very immature, and very unfashionable, but this "sounds" feeling is the saddest, because it represents The mainstream thinking trend of this society-the people who really stand at the top speak with money. Only the naive and the failure will use "environmental protection" and "human cause" to cover up their naivety and failure.

My little capsule is despicable in the title. The cool grandma and cute little animals are worth four points.

Since it was created by the behind-the-scenes team of "Despicable Me", it is not surprising that there are many shadows of the previous works, but in general, the creativity and novelty are somewhat inferior. Deserving extra points are a few episodes and the funny goldfish chorus.

The Lorax quotes

  • Once-ler: Why are you so interested in trees, anyway? Why aren't you like other kids? Breakdancing and wearing bellbottoms and playing the Donkey Kongs?

Ted: [laughs] Yeah. Right, right. I don't know. Uh, I just thought it might be kinda cool to have one.

    Once-ler: [knowingly] Uh-huh. It's a girl, isn't it?

    Ted: [scoffs] What? No!

Once-ler: Really? Because when a guy does something stupid once, well that's because he's a guy. But if he does the same stupid thing twice, that's usually to impress some girl.

Ted: Hey, she is not just some girl! She's a woman. In high school. And she loves trees. And I'm gonna get her one.

Once-ler: Awww. How nice to see someone so undeterred by things like reality.

    Ted: Thank you.

  • Audrey: [to Ted] I could just kiss you right now!

[Ted and Audrey lean in to kiss, only to be stopped by Ted's mother]

Ted's Mom: We don't have time for that!

Ted: I dunno, we have a little time.
