"The King of Comedy", I watched it when I was bored. I clearly remember watching this film for the first time, and I was deeply attracted by Xing Ye's nonsensical humor. After watching it a few times next, I felt that it was not as funny as the first time, and I forced myself to laugh.
Today, when I reopened this film, I didn't laugh from beginning to end. But, I admit, it's Star Lord's best comedy. Because I have watched a lot, I feel that this film can be said to be Zhou Xingchi's most connotative film. In this film, there is no Zhou Xingchi's early madness and his later lack of spirituality and charm. It is the performance of real life. Although the filming was in that era, in today's view, it is still not divorced from life. The film still continues the characteristics of Stephen Chow, the humbleness of the little people, but it is full of kindness and sincerity.
What attracts me to the film is that it shows the struggle of little people, and it is also an autobiographical film of Stephen Chow. I like Stephen Chow's movies not only because of the humorousness of the films, but also because of the emotion of life that Stephen Chow conveys to people.
