Dragon Tiger Gate at Midnight

At midnight, watch a midnight show - "Dragon Tiger Gate". The darker and quieter it was outside, the more intense the fight inside.

For a comic that has been around for so long, 90 minutes can't cover everything. For me, if I don't have a basic understanding of comics, I might just watch it as a martial arts movie, at least not in vain for Donnie Yen's scheming.

I was a few minutes late, and I didn't watch all the opening scenes, but then the scene at the Japanese restaurant was wonderful, which made up for a regret. A friend next to me said that so many movies have been filmed, and there is nothing new, and any more are just a change in the shooting method. Hearing this sentence, I just saw that the camera turned to an overhead shot, and groups of thugs poured into the three rooms. This feeling is very good, and the three-dimensional effect is very full. The camera is getting closer, and the close combat is full of power and fun. Maybe watching too many special effects, too many big productions and big investments, too many dazzling and illusory scenes, suddenly returning to such a real and pure action movie, it feels so close, as if the blood in the body also spreads with it. I didn't like Donnie Yen very much at first, but his performance in the play was really good. His movements were crisp and explosive, and his face was ruthless. It seemed that he finally played his own way of movement.

The title of the "Dragon Tiger Gate" poster event is "An action giant that cannot be surpassed in ten years". Of course, this may only be a means of publicity, but Donnie Yen's real kung fu is rarely seen in recent films. Shawn Yue's performance is not bad, and he also looks like a nunchaku, but his identity may be a little unknown, and he has to work for Longhumen for no reason if he has not officially studied with a teacher. Nicholas Tse seems to be a bit boring, except for a brotherly love scene, the fight scene is not very good, and it is not outstanding.

The weight of martial arts in the movie is also relatively heavy, and the plot is slightly thin. For example, Yuan Hua, who was the theme of the generation in the play, was so vulnerable in front of the evil god of fire clouds. It stands to reason that when the master was killed and the martial arts hall was demolished, there must be hatred and grief in my heart, but this plot was not brought into full play here, except for Xie and Yu, and it was finished after two close-ups, and did not push this grief and anger to a climax. , to stimulate the audience's psychology. At least as I watched it, I didn't have the urge to take revenge right away.

Huang Yulang is naturally unwilling to be admired for his years of hard work, and he has to play a cameo role. It's just too easy, he said a word or two, and he could make Xie and Yu practice reborn, and it was quite a hurry.

What was a little unhappy was the final fight, why didn't the Huoyun Heretic God have a single minion? There should be one or two gatekeepers, right? Just like that, let the two go straight in. There are no surprises in the plot design, and the process can almost be guessed, except for the unpretentious actions to rescue the scene.
In the film, there are two supporting actresses, thus concealing two emotional scenes. Ma Xiaoling and Wang Xiaohu can be described as love at first sight, they are really hasty and pale, can they make a life-and-death promise just by meeting each other? At least not convincing me.

On the contrary, the one between Rakshasa and Wang Xiaolong is the most plump. From the first meeting, Wang Xiaolong's rescue, it was already doomed that this Rakshasa girl owed him. Their meeting was always in the dark, by the ambiguous poolside, and they spoke words that only they could understand. The Rakshasa woman desperately tried to win him over. We are all the same people, and we are not good people. Wang Xiaolong is still ruthless, sticking to the limits of his heart. She has always been so calm, but in fact, she has always been so desperate in her heart, hoping that there will be a little tenderness in his eyes. He actually loves it too, otherwise why would he slap his mark on her. In the last scene, the Rakshasa girl gently slid in front of him. Between life and death, the two were unable to speak or touch. Only the mark remained, confirming a deep-seated but unspoken relationship.

In fact, this was originally a comic, and it was originally a very simple story, nothing more than a struggle between justice and evil. Or, don't think too much about it.
