pride and Prejudice

Every day I commute to and from get off work to catch the light rail, I have to go through a dugout tunnel with a length of more than 400 meters. Even if I am accustomed to the ecology in the tunnel: middle-aged and elderly dance troupes, hawkers, music performances, roller skating~ But there is a sound that makes me really unbearable. Bear with it - a child makes strange noises like a dog, with drug-addicted convulsions, and the mother beside him is indifferent to it~ He must be a playboy, with no education and no character! Unexpected encounters in life always make you realize later, and you learned about Tourette Syndrome through Front of the Class in a few days. I sincerely regret my misjudgment and prejudice! May that child also have a brave heart like Brad Cohen, stick to his dreams and beliefs, and thrive. May the society be more tolerant and kind, and less indifference and contempt~

Front of the Class quotes

  • Brad Cohen: Maybe we should talk about the elephant.

    Recruiter: Elephant?

Brad Cohen: In the room: my Tourette's.

Recruiter: No. The Americans with Disabilities Act doesn't allow me to ask you...

Brad Cohen: I know, but I'd like to tell you just like I tell the kids in my classes. See, I explain to them that it's a brain thing that causes me to make strange noises, they're like sneezes, irrepressible. When you have to, you have to.

    Recruiter: How do they react?

Brad Cohen: Once they understand, they're fine with it. It's never caused any problems in a classroom.

  • Brad Cohen: I was running out of time and money... and hope.
