Before watching the movie, it was hard to imagine the depression of the whole movie, no matter from the name of "sunshine" or the appearance of a family of four standing in the sun on the propaganda poster. And this sense of oppression, full of stamina, sneaks into every corner of life, making the original small beauty and small happiness seem so insignificant and even more precious.
The first scene at the beginning of the movie is Awen, who is a driving school coach, swearing in a frenzy at the driving school. At this time, he received a call. Apparently, the other party asked him what to do about something on the phone, and Awen roared. He shouted, "What should I do? Just let him sit in jail until he dies!" Then the camera flashed back, presenting the audience with a very bloody fight scene; It was chopped up in an instant and flew into a pot of hot soup.
It turned out that the founder of this fight was Ah He, the son of the driving school instructor, Ah Wen, who had just hung up the phone.
When Ah He was bullied, he called his friend Caitou to help him vent his anger. One of them held a watermelon knife and the other held a machete to create this bloody case. Maybe they never thought about it too much, just wanted to teach the person who bullied them a simple lesson, but the two young men were both young and energetic, and one accident caused this catastrophe.
The other party sued the two of them in court, but in the court, Ah He's father's attitude was still "If you made a mistake, you deserve it, you should be arrested, and you should go to jail for education!" Here, compared to the previous bloody fight scenes, it makes people sweat cold, because this is most of the Chinese-style education!
When it comes to Chinese-style education, it seems that there are always two extremes. Either it is like the mother in "Manslaughter", no matter how mischievous and heinous her son is, she still gives thousands of favors; or, it is like the father here. , under no circumstances ask the reason, and never try to communicate with the son, as long as the son makes a mistake or does something that his father thinks ashamed, then he will yell at him, and punch and kick in the worst. These two situations usually lead to the same result, which is to indirectly block the way for children to become "sunshine and good youth".
Seeing his father's attitude, Ah He must have been scared. He was afraid that he would really spend his life in prison, so he put all the responsibility on Caitou in court and picked himself clean. In the end, Caitou was sentenced to three years, and Ah He was sentenced to one year. It is true that Ah He's approach is too unkind, is it crossing the river and demolishing the bridge? But thinking about his father's attitude and his upbringing environment, it doesn't seem difficult to understand. This is nothing more than a subconscious reaction of a boy who was not recognized by his father since he was a child and has always lived a suppressed life.
After Ah He was imprisoned, Ah He's mother was very broken down. She went to visit Ah He, scolded him loudly for what he did, asked him if he had anything else to hide, and asked him with concern if he needed anything. He casually listed some food for mother to bring next time. Everything seemed very calm.
Until one day, another mother brought her daughter to Ah He's house, pointing to Ah He's mother and saying that her daughter was pregnant with Ah He's child. After learning about this, his father, who thought Ah He had embarrassed the family, was even more furious and said a lot of unpleasant things in front of the little girl. Fortunately, Ah He's mother and eldest son Ah Hao stopped him. The girl who was about to run away, and let her live with them, taking good care of her.
Brother Ahao is gentle and kind, always illuminating others like the sun. He guessed the girl's mind, so he took the initiative to take her to see Ah He. After learning the news that the girl was pregnant, Ah He also reversed his attitude of giving up on himself and fighting all day, and wanted to make a good transformation and get out of prison as soon as possible.
Day after day passed, and it seemed that this prison turmoil did not bring too much of a storm to this ordinary family of four. As long as they survived for a year until Ah He was released from prison, they could go back to business as usual. But just like tornadoes always rise flat, disasters always happen without warning. In an ordinary morning as usual, Ah Hao, who has been a good child in the eyes of his parents, a good student in the eyes of his teachers, and a good role model in the eyes of his classmates, jumped off a building and committed suicide.
Ahao's death became the strongest storm to destroy this home. Especially for his father Awen, Ahao has always been the pride in his heart, but now, this pride has been destroyed. He was nervous about his grief and the farewell ceremony of his eldest son to the students who took the driving test. On the wall of the driving school, there are always a few big characters: "Seize the time, control the direction." It seems full of irony.
Life is not a driving test, no matter how much time we cherish and how hard we work, we will never be able to control the direction of our life like we control the steering wheel.
But father Awen obviously doesn't understand this truth, and even often uses the so-called "grasp the time and control the direction" to restrain Ahao. On the surface, Ahao is gentle and sensible, and he does everything to satisfy his father, but his father does not know that he is right. It was the burden of "satisfaction" that weighed down Ah Hao.
Not long after Ah Hao's death, Ah He was released from prison. The former father was proud of Ah Hao, but he never admitted the existence of Ah He. Whenever someone asked him if he had children, he would always boast that "there is a son who is studying for medical school". He only has one. Son, this son is Ah Hao. But now, he realized that he really only had one son left, and this person was Ah He. So he looked at Ah He again and regained his love for Ah He.
When he saw that Caitou, who was released from prison, was always looking for trouble with Ah He because of what happened back then, he humbly went to find Cai Tou, begging him to stay away from Ah He. But as Caitou said, "what did you do in the first place". Of course, Caitou was not willing to let Ahe go easily, and was still looking for trouble with Ahe every now and then, so his father kept watching his son in secret, followed him, and guarded him until one day he found an opportunity and killed Caitou.
At this time, the father who carried everything silently seemed to be very great, but everything has a cause and effect. If he cared more about Ah He in the past, maybe Ah He would not have become a little gangster who fights all day long. It would not lead to the catastrophe of being sentenced to prison; and if he hadn't focused all his attention on Ah Hao, causing Ah Hao to bear too much psychological pressure, perhaps Ah Hao would not have committed suicide by jumping off the building. But in this world anything can happen, just no ifs.
At the end of the film, there is no account of whether the father's murder was revealed. It seems that everything has come to an end. Although Ahao died, this ordinary family of four has now become a family of five, and life is counted. Plain and happy.
One day, Ah He stole a bicycle and drove her mother through the sun-drenched boulevard. Her mother looked up at the sunbeams that filtered through the gaps in the leaves. I thought, at that moment, she might have understood that President Ah He was a child. The reason for arguing about taking a bicycle.
People always say that the sun shines on the earth, but in this world, there are always dark corners that cannot be illuminated, the joys and sorrows, and the ups and downs are always repeated, just like the day is bright and the sky is dark, and spring comes and spring comes again.
