From "The Furnace" to "Sowon," Korean films have never been afraid to rip up the bloody truth to the audience. The Montage did not disappoint.

There are actually three timelines in the story, but the director only distinguished 15 years ago and now when shooting, and we didn't know that there were three timelines until we saw the end. The hidden timeline fills the story with twists and turns, taking the plot from revenge at first sight to revelation.

If it was Xizhen's mother's revenge preparation from the beginning, then the audience would have the perspective of God, and could even immediately understand the plot behind. Then the movie can only be called a brainless cool movie.

but none.

From the beginning to the end, the audience is as ignorant as Officer Wu. The audience's perspective is actually similar to that of Officer Wu. They don't know who the murderer is, so they can only follow the story. So, I fell into the director's trap like this, thinking that it was the real murderer who committed the crime 15 years ago again, thinking that Xizhen's mother was about to be discovered by the murderer, and worried for her. In the end, it turned out that it was a revenge, a self-retaliation of a poor mother.

After 15 years, even the most caring police officer finally burned the information and gave up. However, as a mother, she couldn't give up. For maybe 15 years, every night she's been imprisoned in that night's nightmare. The case has a 15-year prosecution period, but in my mother's case, it will only end if the real culprit is caught. So she started revenge alone.

In addition to the attractive plot, this film is also full of various tortures of human nature.

The biggest one is, of course, " the joys and sorrows of human beings are not connected ". Han Zhe, the real murderer 15 years ago, talked about Xizhen who died because of him. There were no tears, no pain in his eyes, and he was even a little angry. He felt that Xizhen was not at his mercy like a rag doll, so he fell down the mountain and died. But when he recalled the pain of his daughter because of the disease, his granddaughter was kidnapped and kept falling, tears quickly welled up in his eyes. The pain and struggle that others have caused because of him does not exist in his eyes. All he thinks about is his own fears and fears over the past 15 years. There is no such thing as "the old and the old and the old, the young and the young and the young", only "the joys and sorrows of human beings are not connected, I just think they are noisy".

There are also some reflections on the current state of society, such as colleagues in the police department.

In addition, there is one part of the movie that I didn't understand, and there is a scene where a masked man grabs a little boy in the middle. I don't know what the intention of the director of this scene is, can anyone who knows can comment and tell me.
