This is not a film about social issues, and the direct description combined with the deliberate interview form itself does not break out of the fixed expression mode. The film is actually another model of family estrangement and character transformation. There are subtleties in the setting of the relationships between the characters in the second half, and the vague ambiguity strengthens the contradictions and doubts of the protagonist himself.
The actor is the biggest highlight of this film, Juliette Binoche is still as perfect as ever, especially the elusiveness in many close-ups. The two young actresses are equally full of rich layers and stunning expressiveness.
