It's definitely a good movie. Two episodes up and down, 270 minutes, the outbreak and annihilation of a nation, the performance is vivid, called epic, no exaggeration. The length of the film shows the sincerity of the director.
In 1895, the Treaty of Shimonoseki stipulated that Taiwan was ceded to Japan. After that, the military actions of the Japanese army in Taiwan should not be considered an invasion. Taiwan is one of the provinces of the Qing Kingdom. To cede it was the consideration of the Qing government to weigh the pros and cons. Japan's entry into Taiwan in accordance with the treaty is a takeover, not an invasion. In the 9/18 Incident, Japan's armed occupation of Northeast China was an invasion, because it went against the will of the Chinese government, occupied it without permission, and undermined the sovereignty of others. There should be a fair assessment of the nature of Japan's entry into Taiwan.
