To Qifeng expresses through concrete expressions that there are ghosts in everyone's heart, some may be greedy, some may be cowardly.
At first I was frightened by the cut ears, but in retrospect I probably understood the meaning. Maybe I wanted to express the line between genius and lunatic (just like Van Gogh). Some people say that the end of this movie is the beginning. I think the atmosphere at the beginning of this movie is a foreshadowing, and the ending is the climax. It is still remembered by people so far. It is also at the end that seems to be exposed at the end, because of cowardice and doing wrong things. It's the choice to hide the mistakes again and again.
Liu Qingyun and Du Qifeng are very compatible, and Liu Qingyun grasps the sense of fate that Du Qifeng wants to express.
