Summer Hours--Rational Inheritance

"Summer Time"

This is a very rational movie. Human nature has reached a very high level in terms of rationality, of course, compared to the status quo of our lives. A particularly simple story. At the family gathering before the mother's death, the mother explained to the eldest son the handling of all his inheritance after his death, including many works of art and ancestral homes. The eldest son wanted to keep it, but the mother had long considered that the three siblings would be reason to sell the house. Sure enough, after the death of the mother, everything was forced and voluntary towards the disposal method that the mother had considered before her death. I say it's a particularly rational movie.

1. is people's attitude toward death; facing it and being natural; sad but not indulgent; everything is as simple as a flower blooming and fading. Yes, relative to the vast amount of time, the death of a person is just a momentary thing, just like the raindrops on the leaves, just falling.

Grandmother's elegance and indifference are like pearls, and the round color will make you respect her and sigh in your heart. The friendship between brothers, although with time and their respective families, will become less close than when they were children, sincerity is still the most emotional temperament. The relationship between the third-generation children and their parents is both a teacher and a friend, which can fully explain why the older generation can rationally distribute their inheritance, the middle-aged generation can accept it calmly, and the younger generation can miss it in their own way. No one's emotions will be ignored, no one will feel unfair, no one's life will have a sudden sense of ransacking.

2. is the inheritance division. Because of the huge inheritance tax, everyone faced it calmly. All the valuable artworks were donated to the museum. I wanted to keep everything to myself. I said hello to my mother in advance. All were equally distributed. No disputes. especially peaceful. I can only sigh. This height of human rationality is constructed through a grand social system and the humanities. Our society does not know how long it will take and practice to achieve such a level.

Look at the stories described in our daily TV shows, novels, and jokes. In this age where brothers turn against each other for inheritance and for the absence of family affection for one acre and one-third of an acre, it seems that money is the goal that Chinese people pursue in their entire lives, especially when they are old and retired. People become more obscure, gloomy, and stingy after their ability to work and create wealth is no longer possible. If there is a little chance of getting wealthy at this time, then you can really put your head and heart into going forward. It makes people feel that the world we live in is so messy, so boring, and so without a future.

3. At the end of the film, the grandchildren have their last party in the ancestral house, which is about to be shot. The granddaughter walks to the ridge and eats wild cherries while telling her boyfriend that the famous paintings at home are inspired by a certain scene in the ancestral house. She is talking about her grandmother, who once said that the granddaughter would bring her child here. In that scene, the sky was pale, the words suddenly stopped, and the sadness spewed out silently.

It is easy to hear a word recently: inheritance. What exactly is inheritance? Is it the accumulation of wealth from generation to generation? Is it after death that everything is thrown away and the house is repainted or sold for money? When I miss my grandfather, I will tell others their stories. They were in the Red Army, they fought in wars, they continued to study and publish articles when they were old, but when it comes to my grandparents, it seems that only their work and their eroticism are concerned, and nothing else. If one day, my children, my children and grandchildren, how will they miss me and remember me?
