Thanks for the activities of the Inception Movie Group, I watched "The Colinny Case" for free in advance. I didn't read the introduction carefully before watching it, but only read that the label is suspenseful, and it also involves history, law, etc., and I feel that it is what I am interested in. . After watching it, the overall feeling is not bad, it is a good-looking movie, there is something moving, and there is something worth thinking about. In order to get free viewing in the future, please submit your homework as soon as possible~ There are spoilers, so be careful~
The movie revolves around a murder. The victim is an old man with money and status, and from the perspective of the male protagonist and his family, it shows that the victim is not a rich and unkind capitalist, but is rich, kind, caring, friendly to children, generous and tolerant, and a gentleman. example. The murderer was an ordinary person, who did not escape after the murder, and remained silent after being arrested, refusing to explain the motive for the murder. The male protagonist is the murderer's public prosecutor. In order to help the murderer as much as possible, he tries his best to find a motive, hoping that there is something worthy of sympathy, so as to reduce the punishment.
Thus, the first point of conflict arises. If the defendant is clearly guilty, should a lawyer defend him?
The movie gave us the answer. As a lawyer, we should proceed from the interests of our clients.
So the male protagonist and the little lawyer tried his best to get the murderer to speak and discover the motive. He finally found the clue. The special model of pistols, the small Italian town, the nostalgia for the father in the words... strung together a clear line.
A second point of conflict arose when the victim was a young SS officer who ordered the retaliatory massacre of Italian civilians. The murderer's father was killed in this massacre, and he was executed without cruelty in front of him, bringing a lifetime of pain to him and his family. Therefore, the murderer's motives are excusable, and the victim should pay his life to atone for such an unconscionable act. So far, the movie seems to have confirmed the subject, innocent of murder.
Unexpectedly, there was a reversal soon.
The plaintiff's lawyer pointed out that whether a war crime was committed should be judged by a military court, rather than the defendant's own judgment. In fact, as early as the 1960s, the defendant sister and brother filed a lawsuit against the plaintiff, but the court rejected the case and did not file a case. Therefore, although the plaintiff once issued a massacre order during the war, it happened under the special circumstances of the war, and the court held that the plaintiff was innocent. Therefore, the accused killed an innocent man.
It seems right to say so. War is a very complex and special environment. Many things cannot be judged according to common sense, and it is not that killing people will pay for their lives.
The male protagonist and the little lawyer almost gave up. But what Colinny said rekindled his fighting spirit. "Which law holds him innocent, and why is he innocent?" The little lawyer dug out the file from that year and found that the legal basis for the decision not to file the case at that time was so shameless. The law holds that the retaliatory killing of civilians in war is manslaughter, not murder, and that manslaughter is time-limited. Because of this law, many war criminals escaped legal punishment. Such a law is a shame of the law. In court, the small lawyer repeatedly asked the plaintiff's lawyer whether this was fair and just. Finally got a negative answer. At this point, Colinny's knot was finally resolved.
But what is the final verdict of the law? The video doesn't give us the answer.
Colinney committed suicide in prison. The case was subsequently dropped.
Will Colinney be acquitted if he hadn't committed suicide? We have no way of knowing.
Is the law omnipotent? Can you rely on it wholeheartedly? (Think of "The Furnace")
Is it right to lynch a problem that the law cannot solve? (Think of "Three Billboards")
If a person does evil in the special context of war, but is an ordinary person or even a good person in other lives, is he guilty? (Think of "The Reader" and "Persian Lessons")
Finally, let's talk about things other than the content~ The rhythm of the movie is okay, the first half is a bit suspenseful, but the suspense is too simple, the mystery is revealed too quickly, and the second half is a bit boring. Even if there are foreign language films that add to the sense of suspense, it is not a particularly good-looking suspense film. But some atmosphere reminds me of "The Invisible Guest", which is the most suspenseful in recent years.
