Summary: The low-profile version of the defender (in fact, the gap is a bit big, the only low-profile version is because the movie has changed the national law, paying tribute to such a movie).
This film is a court film that strictly follows the deduction detective type, a detective, a conspiracy, and a dark turning point.
Generally, there are three criteria for judging such films.
1. Is the detective interesting enough, or even "bad". Attorney Lincoln and Lu Xiaofeng are good examples.
2. Is the conspiracy big enough? This is the reason why Korean court films can produce many classics. They always choose the "biggest conspiracy", that is, the political conspiracy, and directly singled out the Guo Jia system.
The more opaque the politics system is, the easier it is to produce a credible detective inference film. Just imagine the recent events in CD49, or red, yellow and blue, if it was made into a movie, how crappy it would be.
3. The difficulty of solving the case. The biggest difficulty in solving a case is often not the mystery of the case, but the artificial obstruction, or even the obstruction of the entire system and society to you in the end. This is somewhat similar to a police and bandit movie. The biggest obstacle that affects the police in solving cases is never the bandits but the system, political commissar Zhao and Tang Seng.
Corresponding to this film
1. It didn't focus on showing the interestingness of the protagonist. You can hardly even find the biggest label of his character.
2 The conspiracy is not portrayed enough. The conspiracy behind the whole story, to put it bluntly, is just the bill that should not have been passed, but the bill has been put on the table and printed as a book.
3. Not enough resistance. The first act lays out the resistance very well, with almost all-round 360° strikes. The deceased was the "godfather" of the male protagonist, the female protagonist had an ambiguous relationship with the male protagonist, the prosecution lawyer was the male protagonist's teacher, and the suspect did not cooperate with the protagonist at all. Many people may say that the first act is simmering and long, but from the perspective of drama, the first act is the best written. But these resistances in this film did not form a joint force, and it was always so short of breath. Compared with "First Degree Fear", the male protagonist is a lawyer and the female protagonist is a prosecutor. The two hope to restore their relationship, but the case will definitely force the male protagonist to sacrifice his relationship for the truth.
Talking about the reflection on World War II that may be mentioned by everyone, I personally think that this has become the biggest double-edged sword. The theme is elevated, but the conspiracy is infinitely diluted. It makes the three most powerful places in the genre lack enough strength, which is doomed that the box office of this film will not be very good.
