In the film, the appearance of this line has been uttered by the protagonist for most of his life. When he was young, he was a little guy who was able to get along with the bottom crowd by virtue of his cleverness and shit luck. The Medal of Honor looked like shit luck, but he really attracted the attention of the awarder with his strong sense of service; The stamps left by his deceased wife that made him rich are indeed the sacrifices he made because of his love, and of course this is his own retribution. Because of the noble man's saying "don't be reluctant to give up a fraction", he has always understood the truth of taking it as soon as it is good, and finding another job. But at the same time, he loves to tease the rich with pranks of throwing copper plates, and worships the ability to cover the carpet with banknotes and always follow suit. The hobbies of throwing flowers and placing ornaments on the nudes of various women are no different from throwing copper plates. Before he was imprisoned, he was thankful that he was finally able to become a member of the millionaire community and to be locked up with them. In contrast, he was different from the magical foreman who was proficient in many languages at that time, the foreman was a person with a soul. "I once served the King of England," said the heroic foreman on the surface that he was brave. But with the development of the plot, I gradually discovered that this sentence as the title of the film not only represents pride, but also dignity. When serving such a professional foreman defending his country, he steadfastly resisted the customers of the invading country until the country was invaded and he himself was arrested, and there was no compromising attitude. This is what the young protagonist has been lacking: personality.
However, at the beginning, the protagonist said outside the prison door, which attracted laughter from the audience: I was sentenced to 15 years, received an amnesty, and was released in September 2014. I saw his optimism and open-mindedness. He was dispatched to the border, faced a dilapidated house, smiled and said: I like this new home. Renovating the broken house by myself, meeting a lovely new neighbor, having long-lost ripples in the heart of the new neighbor's romantic girl, putting a lot of mirrors in the house to review myself repeatedly, and the new neighbor leaving him again...
All this is telling us: he has become a mature person who still has desires, but also has a personality. Perhaps he has forgotten his desires during his nearly 15 years in prison. Fortunately, after examining himself repeatedly, he truly became a person with desire and personality. The constant switching of gorgeous but exaggerated colors in the past and the gloomy but calm present in the film is the portrayal of the protagonist's life.
The various humors that are constantly interspersed throughout the film must also hope to make the audience try their best to smile as innocent civilians in the face of the cruel background. After all, optimism has to be there when and where.
The fate of man is interesting because it is unpredictable. All experiences, as long as we remember and understand; when we are old, the memories become a movie, how wonderful it is decisively.
