I didn't expect it to be such a story, I didn't expect it to be such a reason. Some regret not seeing this film in the cinema.
An inexplicable murder, a silent criminal, a good gentleman in everyone's mouth. But in the history of just a few decades ago, everything turned out to be so different.
The legal senior said not to pursue it, and the granddaughter said it had been too long after all. However, such a deep hatred and hatred was never forgotten in the end. But what we see is just the tip of the iceberg, just one of them.
But what this film wants to explore should be far more than the cruelty of the Nazis, but our current laws. Law does not necessarily equal justice, and may even become an accomplice of criminals. But the law still has a purpose, a source of relief and perhaps a belated judgment. In the end, when the old man committed suicide, I thought he was satisfied. The world knew about his past, the court acknowledged the negligence of the law, and he finally had this belated explanation.
Remember who once said that Hitler alone could not have killed so many Jews. But except for what he thought, everyone seemed to be doing "the work of last resort". It's just escorting the Jews, it's just cooking or burning fire in the concentration camp, it's just one of the soldiers... Everyone thinks that they don't do their own thing, and they say that they are also forced.
However, people always have choices. I remember the only photo in the crowd that didn't salute Hitler. Yes, in the torrent of history, such people are rare, difficult, and great. It may be difficult for all living beings to sacrifice themselves to accomplish what is truly right. Then, don't feel wronged when you liquidate afterwards.
