There's nothing wrong with this life

A small man who is not handsome but very interesting; a poor boy who has no great talent but dreams of becoming a rich man. It seemed that God had especially favored him, turning his weakness into a blessing. He was supposed to live like dust for a lifetime, and then he was envied by his legendary life in the most dilapidated cabin. "I Served the King of England" tells the story of such a little man. It's a bit magical, a bit outrageous, but still quite enviable.

One after another, the gorgeous shots skipped over the plump bodies of the beauties, the solemn and comical faces of Dieter, the luxurious hotel lobby, and the banknotes that covered the walls... ...in the end, the bald head was worn away in the deserted log cabin in the woods, stunned, and turned into a down-to-earth and simple gray on the face of the old Dieter with a smart smile. The memories in the mirror bring back the youthful years again and again, the proud posture, the unsmiling expression, the romantic and magical rendezvous, the flash of love... all seem to be unreal, but they are so fascinating. Happy people.

People who are born unlucky should not be unlucky all their lives. Dieter doesn't ask for much from fate, but one - make me rich. Become a rich man, how good is a rich life. This sentence, which sounds like nonsense, has always been interpreted reluctantly by various novels and movies. I'm used to hearing things like "life after being rich is emptiness", "when you are rich, you will lose yourself", "when you are rich, you will understand that the meaning of life is not here"... and so on, ramble. "I Once Served the King of England" bravely and firmly said: rich is good, even if there is too much money, it can only be used to paste the wall, even if you have money to put yourself in prison, it is still very good to have money.

For the impression of "rich people", Dieter may be a little vague. He always threw a handful of coins and watched them scornfully picking up money all over the place. But he never despised their greed, nor would he ever change his dream of becoming a rich man. It might sound absurd, and the moment when Dieter was arrested as a rich man might be even more absurd. However, you can't see the slightest regret on his face, even in prison, even in the dilapidated wooden house after being released from prison, even in the mirror staring at the reappearance of the past. Instead, what he can see is his recollection and nostalgia for the moment of glory, his immersion and intoxication in the moment of ecstasy, and his gratification for realizing his only dream in this life. When he walked out of the prison gate and looked up at the sky, what was on his mind? Oh, to be free at last, how nice. But the prison behind it is a prison full of rich people. I used to be one of them. Although it is not very decent, it is not bad. When he came to the chalet, he didn't hate the pile of scrap metal, but tried to reproduce the golden mood of the past with his magician-like skills.

A person has a dream in his life, not stealing, not robbing, not killing, but he may rely on a little cleverness, a little slickness, a little bit of loopholes, and a little trick, but he finally realized this dream, and he never regretted it. There's nothing wrong with this kind of life, and it's worth an ordinary person's life to live this kind of life. Although such a dream may not be so noble, at least it is not cheap. Although such a dream may not be so majestic, at least it is not wretched. It is very good for an ordinary person to have such a dream and realize it.
