When I watched this movie before, it was still a DVD played by a cable TV station in my hometown. Decades have passed in a blink of an eye. After reviewing this masterpiece of Jet Li, I already feel that the Hong Kong kung fu movies of that year are still very interesting. Of course, the premise is that people like Jet Li and Zhao Wenzhuo fight against each other. That's a feast for the eyes. Like the current martial arts movies, the special effects are getting better and better, but the real kung fu of the actors is not even a show. Woke up.
The whole story, in fact, according to my current perspective, is very general, and there is nothing really surprising. Just like American hero movies, if it is for watching the plot, it is really meaningless. The same is true of "Fang Shiyu", the story is old-fashioned, and it is exactly the same as the traditional Hong Kong martial arts film. But the strength lies in the actors themselves. In this film, Jet Li began to become lively, no longer so rigid, and much more cute. But the biggest bright spot in the film is actually Miao Cuihua. This character is played really well by Xiao Fangfang. She is a hero of the rivers and lakes with a carefree personality, but she spoils her son in every possible way. This kind of character is really good.
