What does a man do when he is desperate? Maybe listen to the radio and eat cake.
"Tunnel" tells the story of a company employee who was driving home to celebrate his daughter's birthday when he suddenly encountered a tunnel collapse. He was buried under it and experienced many times of despair and hope. He was finally rescued, and only a dirty word could vent the anger in his heart.
The movie satirizes Korean politics. The tunnel workers cut corners, the executives just wanted a form of rescue, and the reporters only thought about the Guinness Book of Records. After the first time they dug in the wrong place, their eyes were still bright. Only Captain Jin really wanted to rescue the protagonist. The protagonist Li Zhengzhu has experienced the interweaving of hope and despair, and he still maintains the hope of life. He did not give up on himself, nor did he give up on others. He blamed himself for the girl's death and regretted that he didn't rescue Mina properly.
The two episodes that impressed me the most were the Kim brigade and the protagonist's base love. Jin Daqing led by example, even drinking urine to encourage Li Zhengzhu, it was such a responsible rescue team that rescued him. After exiting the tunnel again, the executives who had given up had the cheek to take a photo with the male protagonist who had not yet received treatment. Therefore, after being finally rescued, the male protagonist's testimonial is: "Get out of here, you bastards." Whose fault is the tunnel collapse? Whose fault is the accidental death of the worker? Whose fault is it that the rescue fails again and again? All of this has to do with the high-ranking officials in the government. If they hadn't cut corners and altered the drawings without authorization, maybe the male protagonist would have come out long ago. "Tunnel" does a great job of satirizing this point. Okay.
The ending seems to be happy, but in fact, no one knows whether there will be a second Li Zhengzhu.
