What Rohmer highlights is actually the tragedy of modern thinking, being trapped by oneself with no possibility of escape... The movie screen must be beautiful, the beauty that reigns over everything, and under the precious golden light, it presents an open space A paradise where the door is closed again, showing emotions ranging from worry to anxiety. There is indeed a world around us, with objects, people, and life, and this certainty is astonishing at first glance, in the eyes of an artist.
Only by playing with the disguise of consciousness can the unquestionable truth of the film be presented more perfectly.
