The story of the film review is very simple. The reappearance of a mysterious corpse has triggered a new round of blood and blood on the rivers and lakes. Relying on a solid script and excellent production, "Jian Yu" made a simple story wonderfully, with suspense and climaxes, moving and complex characters, full of emotions, and profound themes. Su Zhaobin, who is also a screenwriter and director, definitely contributed.
The film gives enough complexity and depth to the characters in the play, whether it is Drizzle, played by Michelle Yeoh, Jiang Asheng, played by Zheng Yusheng, or King of Wheels, played by Wang Xueqi, these characters all face a motif of dislocated identities.
Drizzle turned out to be a killer of a gangster organization. She had killed countless people and disappeared into the rivers and lakes with half a mysterious corpse and countless gold after an operation, and her whereabouts became a mystery. Zeng Jing, an ordinary woman who makes a living by selling cloth. Retiring from Jianghu, she hid mysterious bodies and gold, buried her name and identity, and even changed her appearance. She looked forward to changing her destiny until she met Jiang Asheng.
Telling the plot in detail will greatly damage the pleasure of watching a movie, so I won't repeat it here. The film is quite in-depth in terms of the plot of the story and the exploration of human nature. Through the elaboration of the motif of identity dislocation, "Jianyu" has a philosophical speculation and a strong sense of Zen in a sense.
"Sword Rain" is an excellent martial arts work, but it is not only a martial arts movie, I think this is probably the biggest charm of this movie.
PS: The best martial arts movie after Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
