The appearance of "Di Renjie" was greeted with applause, but "Flying Arms of Dragon Gate" made me really feel: Tsui Hark is really back. Tsui Hark, who made martial arts films, is the real Tsui Hark. Only he can fully interpret the mastery of martial arts. How can audiences who have watched Tsui Hark's martial arts films be so amazed by "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon"? So I despised the foreigners who were amazed and fascinated by the "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon". Although I am also a foreigner, I am a foreigner who grew up in Hong Kong movies!
"Dragon Gate Flying Armor" still plays beautifully, but this time the focus is on IMAX 3D. All scenes, plots, actions, mise-en-scene, almost all serve for 3D. I once thought that 3D can only emphasize the depth of the scene, but this time, Mr. Xu combined Western technology with Eastern martial arts, once again opened up a new perspective, and brought the role of 3D into full play. However, since only IMAX 3D can see the advantages of the film, even ordinary 3D cannot reflect it, but IMAX halls are not common, which is undoubtedly a pity.
The aerial shot of the opening chapter has already shocked us. This is much better than the 3D movies that Hollywood claims to have seen before! The masts, darts, debris, yellow sand, and wooden stakes approached, so realistic that I subconsciously wanted to hide to the side, and even couldn't help screaming. No matter how many times I watched it, I still felt shocked. Old Monster Xu's goal this time has been achieved.
The lonely smoke in the desert, the subtle love between children, and the cold humor that does not reveal any traces, continue the style of the master. It can be an entirely new story, or it can be considered a sequel to New Dragon Inn. The flute is a token and a hint.
In the film, there are traces of Tsui Hark's past films everywhere. In order to attract Zhao Huai'an, Ling Yanqiu pretended to be him to save people everywhere, just like Xue Qianxun who pretended to be Dongfang Invincible to kill people everywhere in "The Unbeaten East: The Rise of the East", just to attract his sweetheart. Li Lianjie's last series of kicks, as if Huang Feihong's shadowless feet reappeared in front of him.
Jet Li and Zhou Xun, let me play a little bit, it has nothing to do with acting, but they remind me of Tony Leung Ka Fai and Maggie Cheung, they are responsible for continuing the feelings of "New Dragon Inn". Chunchun and Chen Kun, on the other hand, adjusted the sad and heavy plot, and the small mood of slapstick brought hope to the somewhat depressing and desperate, treacherous and sinister rivers and lakes, which made people smile. Gui Lunmei's Brudu is probably my least favorite character in the whole film. True temperament, but also really selfish. Gu Shaotang rescued her life in distress, she turned around and wanted to throw Gu Shaotang in the palace without regard to it, the wolf in the wild was fully revealed, it was these temperaments, in order to reflect the feelings of Gu Shaotang and Bu Cangzhou for each other. Fan Xiaoxuan's palace maid, things fall wherever she goes, and various untimely sounds have silently paved the way for her role as a meticulous artist.
Yuhuatian, played by Chen Kunfen, has a strong aura and a strong contrast with Bu Cangzhou, who is frivolous in words and deeds. Personally, I prefer Yuhuatian to Bu Cangzhou.
Gu Shaotang, I think it is a combination of Qiu Moyan and Jin Xiangyu. She has Qiu Moyan's introverted emotional side, and she is never tender to Bu Cangzhou. She doesn't want to talk about money, but it's her who cares most about love. She doesn't get used to rivals in love, and she will save her life at the juncture of life and death. The scene in which he appeared fully explained the character's hot personality.
This is one of my favorite characters in the movie. Love and hate are clear, neat but not humane.
In "New Dragon Inn", the relationship between Lin Qingxia's Qiu Moyan, Liang Jiahui's Zhou Huai'an and Maggie Cheung's Jin Xiangyu is vaguely projected on Chunchun's Gu Shaotang, Chen Kun's Bu Cangzhou and Gui Lunmei's Brudu.
It is the best portrayal of Gu Shaotang and Bu Cangzhou. In the film, Gu Shaotang looked at Zhao Huai'an and Ling Yanqiu with emotion, thinking of Bu Cangzhou, who is used to being nice to everyone and not good at rejecting women, he slapped him in the face when he turned back when he was angry, and Bu Cangzhou asked in surprise: "When we parted ways," he asked. Isn't it about three chapters of the law, and it's agreed to only talk about business and not about feelings?" It's easy to say, but is it really true? Can it really be done?
When Bu Cangzhou was entangled by Brudu, he weakly stretched out his hand and pushed Gu Shaotang, who was secretly jealous but could endure silently, worried that she would be angry; she pretended not to care, but couldn't control the sourness in her heart, and left the stage with a flick of her sleeves. If he has no affection, why does he care about her emotions so much, why is she angry?
When everyone urged him to pretend to be Yuhuatian, he was unwilling to live or die, so Bru asked Ying to hug him and said he wanted to accompany him to battle, but he ducked slightly, mumbling and still unwilling, Gu Shaotang gloated at this moment and said: "Wind Li Dao eats all over the rivers and lakes with one mouth, but there are still two hits." He was unwilling but stood up and walked out. If he was ruthless, why did he care so much about what she said? And why didn't she immediately refuse the same way she refused Brudu when she said she wanted to accompany him?
When she was trapped in the palace, Brudu asked, "Are we going back? If we go back, we won't be able to get out." He refused without hesitation: "If we don't go back, what will Gu Shaotang do?"; when Yu Huatian killed him , she almost subconsciously rushed forward and pushed him away, and instead was held hostage by her body. When she couldn't support it and saw that she fell into the ruins, it was he who rescued her in time. When he was forced to drink poisonous wine and faced life and death, she was used to standing up to protect him and accompany him at the first time, and he was also used to being protected and accompanied by her.
Is this not love?
Never say love, only depend and be depended on, that's how they love each other.
So, when he decided to leave and search for another sky, Brudu jumped on the horse with him. He looked surprised and turned back to look for her, why not her? The two who stood on the wrong road still stubbornly believe that there should be each other in the future life. Therefore, he said: If they do not come back, you will come to the capital to find me, and I will wait for you.
She looked at the back of his departure and chose to stay in this desert, holding the flute tightly and waiting for him there. Wait for him to see through the scenery, and wait for him to come back to accompany her to watch the water flow.
It's not that they don't love, it's just that they are still waiting for the day when they meet again.
Waiting for the day when he becomes stronger and can protect her behind him, maybe, he will come back.
The master prefers heroic and strong women, and will always leave the male protagonist's heart to them.
Bu Cangzhou who left, although Brudu followed and left, but his heart was given to Gu Shaotang who stayed in the desert to wait. Just like Zhou Huai'an galloped away on his horse back then, Jin Xiangyu followed closely, but he couldn't forget Qiu Moyan who stayed in the desert forever. Fortunately, Gu Shaotang is still alive and will see the day he returns.
The master once lamented the long relationship in the interview, which led to the lack of explanation of the relationship between them. The plot is not full enough, the space is too short, and the inking is too little, which is really regrettable.
The final ending also carries the old master's usual small evil taste. The spoof humor dilutes some of the faint sadness. It should be better if it can appear as an easter egg in the subtitles.
